Valhalla This 2,444 square foot home has an impressive entry tower with a welcoming covered entry and foyer. Inside you’ll find the highly desirable 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom and 3 stall garage. Also featuring 12’ ceilings and expansive windows for a bright and airy feel to the open concept great room and dining room. The well-appointed gourmet kitchen features a large center island with breakfast bar for informal dining, ample counter and cabinet space, and a roomy walk-in pantry. The private master suite features a generous walk-in closet plus master bath with dual-sink vanity, glass-enclosed shower, and private water closet. The en-suite junior master features a tiled shower and walk-in closet and is adjacent to a convenient laundry room. Pictures are exactly what you get -- a modern and new house inside The Rim Country Club. The house felt almost new, and my kids loved the foosball and ping pong tables in the garage. This house brings lots of light in which is great during the day; it has electric blackout window shades for night, which keep the rooms dark. Plenty of space for relaxing; the couch and pillows were great; and the fireplace kept the room warm. The decks and outside are great. The Stay & Play package included in the house is great -- our kids loved The Trailhead across the highway at Chaparrel Pines. They played there for hours; and we enjoyed being able to stay on the club property and be able to dine at the clubhouses. There are many high end homes, and the community has a manned 24/7 manned guard gate. The house is well furnished and I felt very much at home. I usually only stay in 5 star hotels when I travel and this property is on par. Internet was >100 mbps. All TV's are smart TV's so you can just log in to Netflix etc with your own credentials. There is a SONOS music system. Nice electric Traeger grill, which I had never used before, but thinking about getting one now. I read a prior negative review about the "third" bedroom. While this may be used in some homes like a den, it has a king size bed with ample additional room, and the full bathroom is just outside the door. Other bedrooms also had king beds with nice linens and en suite full bathrooms. There also was a prior negative review about using the facilities, but we had no issue. When staying in this home, you are a "Stay and Play" guest of the community. I provided all of our names to the real estate agent ahead of time, via VRBO messaging and when I called to make golf tee times or spa/massage reservations, they had our group's names so there was no issue. A 90 minute massage was only $120\. You can only book your Rim Club tee times one week in advance, and mornings are reserved for the members. I played twice at 11:30 a.m. and no issue getting on the course which was not crowded at all. Members that we met on the course were very friendly to us. Both times played 18 holes in 4.5 hours. The course is outstanding and relatively cheap at $125/round. Many scenic views from almost every Tee box and fairway. The Rim Club restaurant is the best restaurant in Payson in my opinion. Food was excellent but they were only open two nights a week for dinner, but daily for lunch. There are also local Payson restaurants that are a 10 minute drive, so no big deal. Staying at the Rim Club we could also use the adjacent, gated community of Chapparal Pines. Their clubhouse was open for dinner the other nights and they have a great playground for kids and a better pool for families, including a kids pool. Use of their pool/gym was $5 per day, so no big deal. Staff at the facilities are all very friendly and we had no issue using the facilities. Chapparal Pines also has an 18 hole course, which also appears outstanding and looking forward to playing that next time. House (villa/patio home subdivision) shares driveway with several houses under construction (next door and across street) which will start after 6 am and wake you up. Country club dining is in full swing season yet only open 3 nights a week, we were not given full use and access to facilities as promised (we even confirmed via email prior), we were also charged facilities usage fees not disclosed on VRBO (we were approached multiple times by several staff wanting to verify we paid our daily uses fee) we were even accused of sneaking someone into facility and asked to pay for someone picking us up to give us a ride, I think the whole stay n play concept is new and needs some kinks worked out, Not a 3 car garage (2 1/2) but will fit two cars after moving ping pong table. Security camera not disclosed per vrbo rules but nothing wrong with having ring camera. Very disappointed as were have stayed in VRBO in several countries and never had this happen. The realtor that manages was super nice and apologetic but we definitely did not get what we expected or paid for. I did wait a week before posting to see if they would update vrbo listing to be fair to nexts guests but after not seeing any posting corrections I felt the need to post warning.
