The room had new carpeting, furniture, and bathroom fixtures, the bed was really comfortable, and the bathroom amenities were great. We were on track to make it and got as far as 40 miles away when the pass got closed. We called the Motolodge to ask if we could still come if the closure extended beyond midnight or later. Even though we prepaid for our stay, we were told that the time limit to check in was 3 AM. In fairness, we did not purchase the protection for the trip because we were so close when we made our reservation. However, we had absolutely no control over the situation and were told that there would not be a refund. That hardly seemed fair since we had no control whatsoever over whether or not we could make it to the motel. Nicely remodeled \~ modern. Very nice staff. My only irritation was no coffee making or microwave in room to heat water to make my own with press coffee maker or tea in evening... if I'd known i would have brought my own electric kettle. They had coffee/tea in lobby but after a long day it would have been nice to have in room. The room was very clean & comfortable. Our room wasn’t spacious, but that is what we booked for 1 night of travelling through Pendleton. If you are staying longer, you may want to book a larger room, depending on your needs, but our room was good for our needs.
