"Our second stay at Baxter's Hideaway was just as wonderful as the first. Albert is very responsive. The property very clean and well-equipped. The proximity to the bike trail is great. With beautiful weather we meandered along Church Street Marketplace in Burlington each night (highly recommend!). If you want to eat dinner in Burlington we recommend making reservations well in advance. We will definitely return again next fall!"

"We stayed here for the second time because I find it so enjoyable. The view is beautiful and it’s only about 15 minutes from UVM. A perfect place for a small group (if you can do stairs). It’s an older cottage with a lot of character; mismatched dishes, small stove/oven, slightly uneven floors, fun knickknacks everywhere, beautiful views of Mallett’s Bay, and lots of windows. Gordon and Beverly are super nice and easy to chat with."

"Beds were comfortable and the 3 season porch was a great place to unwind. We enjoyed the view of the water from the house. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes. At night we could hear tree frogs calling on the other side of the road, which was fun. There's also a park nearby with walking trails, and a grocery store close by. Zachary's Pizza is also close and we had an excellent pizza there. It was about 20 minutes to downtown Burlington. A very relaxing place to stay, so glad we found it!"

"We loved our stay for the 2024 total eclipse! The house is on a hill with beautiful mountains all around, and it is very quiet - it's like you have the mountains to yourself. The house itself is one of the most comfortable my family of 4 has rented and not cramped like many rentals. The living room is huge with plenty of seats, there is room around the table to easily seat 6, and the kitchen is big enough for multiple cooks. "We were very excited to arrive at this beautiful location, however, the listing doesn't accurately describe this rental. Be aware that the windows don't close properly (or at all), there is a lot of noise during the night, properly critters. This unit is above someone and the neighbors are quite close. Very nice ferry driver! If you are into a glamping experience, it is worth it, but the price should reflect this."

"I had a great experience at this property! It was the perfect place to watch the eclipse, and made a a great home base. I was pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was, as far as dining ware and cookware goes. We needed to call Albert to turn up the heat, but he arrived promptly and was very pleasant to interact with. We loved the decor of the place, and would love to return if we find ourselves in the neighborhood again."

"We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite bad weather all week. The property is as described. The view was lovely and we appreciated how quiet the neighborhood was. We cooked most of our meals. The kitchen was well-stocked in terms of dishes, cutlery, pots & pans. The only potential issue is that the stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms are very steep, as others have noted, and our dog wasn’t able to climb them. Other than that, the place was very comfortable and it was great to get away."

"The number one thing I loved about this property was the absolute quiet of the area. If you want to get away from it all - sit by the fire, read and just enjoy nature in quiet this cabin is for you. Close enough to shops and attractions - you get a nice balance of solitude and things to do. Easy check in/out process. Will come back!"
