We spent alot of money on this vacation in the Dominican Republic at this RIU, as we did last years trip at the RIU Ohco Rio in Jamaica. This Trip at the RIU Republica (Adults Only) in D.R. We had people entering our room when we had the Red Sign on the door to stay out, while we were on an Excursion Had someone putting Beers in our refrigerator, which I had them to come in and remove from from our room. Because, we dont drink beer. Not only was someone coming in our room unauthorized putting unwanted items in our refrigerator but then coming in the next day and drinking them, while we were out of the room. The Manager was supposed to lool back at the Security Cameras and let us know, even after our departure. We felt and believe other things were missing. We constantly had to see a Manger literally everyday about something. The Manager Angelo promised that information as well as adding our points for that stay to my RIU Account for all the problems and inconveniences (WHICH NEVER HAPPENED, NO POINTS, NO RESPONSESBACK TO SEVERAL EMAILS) . My Fiancée is Handicap and things and rooms were difficult maneuvering around. Showers without grab bars. The other Manager Ms. Laura and a Manager Victor. They would take care of a small issue. But, for Mr. Angelo the Manager we had to interact with the most. First, I want to mention that some members of the staff around the resort were genuinely kind and helpful. Housekeeping and a few employees in the common areas were friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, our experience at the steakhouse near the buffet was extremely disappointing. The service there was awful from the moment we sat down. Our server clearly did not want to be there and was very rude to our table the entire time. It felt like we were an inconvenience rather than guests. The food was also very poor. The salmon was served completely burned, and overall the meal was one of the worst we had during the trip. Another serious concern was the lack of security in the disco. There was no one monitoring the crowd or checking for people who were clearly overly intoxicated. On top of that, many people were smoking inside the club, and no staff members were addressing it. The environment felt unmanaged and uncomfortable. Stains on sheets/pillows. No fitted sheets just two top sheets that slide everywhere and you wake up sleeping on gross mattress. Toilet in room barely flushed, fan broke, no fan in bathroom so was just a wet sticky area throughout the room/bathroom. Pools were fun and staff was nice, excursion was cancelled and made us pay way more for a different one that was cheaper online and could not book that way since we were using same tickets as old excursion. Food was okay, but did not know what 3/4 of it was as they did not have names for all of the food. 10/10 staff. 3/10 rooms.
