Car Rental Lastarria

Once you've covered all the great places in Lastarria, there's a lot more to explore in the surrounding area. Pick up the keys to a rental car, throw your bags in the trunk and get out on the open road. We've pulled together some drives we know you'll love:

• Head to Vina del Mar for a fantastic sightseeing adventure. Approximately 60 miles from Lastarria, it's home to loads of cool attractions like Quinta Vergara Amphitheatre.
• Next stop? Valparaiso, which is around 60 miles away. Casa Mirador de Lukas is one local hot spot you won't want to miss.
• Visit Reserva Nacional Radal Siete Tazas to feel grounded in nature. Take a picnic to enjoy or just recharge your batteries in the fresh air. From Lastarria, it's roughly 140 miles away.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Chile, then you'll likely need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be able to rent a car. Also consider that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. A few other things to note to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or older in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the fine print before getting behind the wheel. With rental cars, you usually can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or on off-road areas with a rental car.
