It was Christmas, but the staff were distracted by the busy pub and were not helpful when it came to giving me information about parking. And Christmas Day morning the chef didn't turn up for breakfast. The room was basic and clean.

Lovely shabby chic building and style. Good quality room, we had a nice stay! Where does it lose a mark? Pillows were waaaay too soft & breakfast although hearty, over cooked, burnt toast - such a shame. Tidy those points up, and it would be full marks! 😃

Very acceptable stay at The Ship

Very happy with our stay at The Ship. Our room Skye Chardonnay was very comfortable. Our little dog was made very welcome with a gift box of treats a toy and poo bags of course! The Housekeeping staff were very good.

We stayed here to break up a journey, lovely little place to stay right by the river and only a short walk to the high street, room very comfy with good bathroom, tea / coffee tray, food was avaliable but we eat elsewhere but heard good reviews

Rooms are well-appointed, very clean and have tea and coffee-making facilities. Due to the age of the building it is not air conditioned so can get hot on a warm night, although the hotel supplies fans.

Wonderful place to stay

A lovely place to stay if you are visiting Rye. It’s in a great spot with good food and very helpful, friendly staff. Couldn’t fault it at all and would definitely return.

Flawless. We loved our stay at The Ship Inn and I strongly recommend it for any stay in Rye. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of town. The pub is beautiful and historic and the room itself modern and faultlessly clean. Some little details I really appreciated: tea and coffee and kettle in the room (with oat milk sachets!), a deep bath, tv, desk fan and a very comfy, spacious bed. 10/10
