"Impressive entrance, wonderful surroundings. The hotel - rooms and the gardens are imaculate. There is a thriving nine hole golf course there for the golfers, the waiters are very attentive and staff overly helpful. Had i been there with my wife it would have been so much better, but being there alone i felt i did not appreciate the experiance as i was only there to eat and sleep. On that note if there is a critisism at all -- the food is not cheap!! And for those of you who like a full plate...

"A beautiful historic property near to the river right in the heart of the old city of Deventer. I stayed in a studio, which had a mezzanine level and stairs up to the bed. It was well equipped and the bathroom was very modern. Note - the stairs were very steep up to the bed, so wouldn’t suit someone immobile. The stairs in the hotel are also very steep. The hotel staff were very friendly. All in all a very lovely stay."

The room was large but the shower and sink area had no door, which presents some problems when you have other people there with you. The separate toilet although not uncommon in the Netherlands is a bit of a pain. It wasn’t the room in the photo, so we had different expectations, but this is our own fault. Our daughter had to sleep in a sofa bed, which again we were not...

"Nice hotel, great staff. Being an old hospital, the rooms are a bit of a strange configuration (at least ours was). The hotel is located in the restricted vehicle / pedestrian area of town so transporting luggage is a bit more of a chore. Nice stay overall, and good breakfast. "

"Short walk to the local shops. Lots of parking spaces never s struggle to get a space. Tehre was a wheelchair ramp up to the hotel reception. A 10 pin bowling alley shares the car park. It had a secure bicycle lock dedicated building, accessible with your room key card."
