Great place but not so clean

The stay was wonderful. The house provided the space we needed and the location is great. However, on the first day we did spend some time cleaning and mopping the floors because they were filthy. I would love to come back to this place but the cleanliness is an issue.

Shaver Lake Fishing Trip

The property met our needs. There were 5 in the group and overall we enjoyed our stay. The gas grill had been damaged due to all the snow, fortunately we had brought our own charcoal grill.

The perfect cabin

Well, unless you enjoy cabin life, and mountain activities, cabin lodging is not for you.

Can't think of a thing. Overall, this was not an enjoyable trip (totally unrelated to the quality of the cabin). Thank you.

Horrible cabin

The cabin was filthy, including all the cooking pots and pans. The cabin smelled horrible and we found dirty socks in the couch. Termites covered the ceiling and walls in the bathroom, I would never stay here again or recommend this cabin. With so much competition for rentals, it was surprisingly unkept.

Overall okay

My overall experience was okay. The place is a little outdated. It has very old furniture. My main complaints will be regarding the dirty living room carpet and the stove. The living room carpet is disgusting dirty. It needs to be either shampooed or thrown out. The stove is super slow. It took over 3hrs to cook breakfast. The burners are really slow to cook. Otherwise, everything else was decent. It’s close to shopping center which was nice!

Beautiful location, dirty house

The location of this property is top notch! The backyard is serene and the proximity to town and Shaver Lake is super convenient. However the house itself is in bad shape. The cooking amenities are ok, but they were all super dirty....we washed everything before we used them since many dishes still had food stuck to them. The deck's condition was awful...the entire paint was coming off and my little kids got numerous splinters every day as the played outside on the deck. It's such a toss up, because there is so much potential for this property if it were kept up. We still enjoyed the location and the game room. Again, a great idea and nice to have Pool table and Foosball options but the game room could be amazing if it were cleaned and organized a little better. All-in-all, could be a whole lot better but usable if you're not squeamish about cleanliness.

Beware of the word “Charming”…

Charming Evergreen Escape We enjoyed our trip to Shaver Lake but our stay at Evergreen Escape was questionable. It’s a very poorly maintained property and needs a deep cleaning and TLC. The main bathroom, two couches and the downstairs beds were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was minimally clean. BUT everything else was dirty, refrigerator/freezer, dinning table, coffee table, throw rugs, comforters, closets, BBQ, and the entire second floor that had 1 king and 5 twin beds. The linens were dirty on 3 of the upstairs beds. And the 2nd bathroom was a hot water heater closet with a sink & toilet. But the worst were the filthy dirty floors, they were so dirty they turned our feet black 👣. I called Vacasa to have housekeeping come back and clean the floors but they were unavailable. Two guys from Vacasa came and cleaned the floors and tables. I was so appreciative to them.

Comfy home for large group

This house was perfect for my son's 17th birthday. The bedrooms were arranged very well for the teens to be upstairs and adults downstairs. One room full of twin beds was great and the larger beds were very comfortable as well. The back deck was spacious with enough seating for a large group. The game room was fantastic and allowed for plenty of "teen time" after the adults went to bed without disturbing the neighbors. We knew from the photos that the kitchen was small, so we planned to grill on the back deck for our dinners. And here's where the problems came up. When we arrived there was no propane in the propane tank for the gas grill. We called customer service and they said there was no local number (despite the instructions telling us to call the local number if there was no propane). Since we had planned to grill that night, we went ahead and got the propane tank filled, assuming Vacasa would simply reimburse us. Unfortunately, the grill was so filthy and corroded that it wouldn't even cook a burger, so we had to cook in stages in the tiny kitchen. Despite customer service saying they would get back to us, no one contacted us. I texted Vacasa again on Thursday to ask for the cost of propane to be reimbursed. I also shared pictures of the grill. This time they sent someone out with a replacement grill, but it didn't work either. There was still no mention of reimbursing me for the propane. Friday after we checked out I followed up again, was asked for a receipt, again, and still have not been paid back or contacted. This is really poor customer service. And it's too bad, because the house was really great in all other ways. The homeowners should consider working with another property manager who will give the home the attention it deserves.

Loved our stay!!

Beautiful Mountain Oasis

This was a cozy cabin with well stocked amenities and easy access to the Shaver Lake and close to town. We enjoyed the large deck, fire pit and game room. Warm and inviting space with plenty of parking too.

Little dropping

This was our 4th time here at this cabin, loved the new couches, floors, lights on patio (we usually have to bring our own)and mattresses updates. In the past we were able to park in front of garage / game room but since our last visit the extra long parking space has been blocked( not sure why, it’s not being used) another thing is we had little rodent droppings every morning in the bathrooms. Other than those 2 issues I would have given this cabin 5 stars.

Great cabin for family and friends

We had the best stay here. The cabin is cozy and welcoming. We had four adults and six kids and everyone was comfortable in a bed. The kids had the best time playing pool and hiking around the area. The adults enjoyed the large outdoor patio for food and drinks. I loved that the dining room was large enough for our group. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

I tried numerous times to contact me casa regarding some property that I left on the cabin a huge large Teflon pot that I took to make a special dish I am going to have to purchase another one because nobody has answered the phone or returned my call regarding this I do not know how to get a hold of a host that was never information given to me so that they may set aside my pot and I can come up and get it other wise Really enjoyed that our teens had the detached game room and plenty of out door space large patio for family BBQ

Great weekend fun!!!

If your looking for a simple, rustic cabin feel, this is your place. I've stayed here a few times in 2020 and keep coming back because it's always so relaxing and the perfect place to hang out with family and friends. There's definitely been some upgrades that are not displayed on the images such as new flooring in all four bedrooms, new mattresses, new couches and a new stove. We had a blast hanging out at the lake which is walking distance from the cabin. We also had a great time bbq'n on the back deck and playing in the game room. This is definitely our favorite spot and we can't wait to book our next family weekend getaway!

Family Vacation

Great space big enough for us. We did a quick walk through and checked everything upon arrival. Called Vacasa to bring light bulbs and switches to their attention and they assisted right away. Photos do make it look a lil bigger than what it is. We loved it, calm, cozy & quiet. No neighbors next door for most of our stay. We took sheets to cover the couches. I really appreciated the Washer & Dryer. I loved the lawn cots/chairs. We over packed but everything you need is there for your use. I look forward to Booking that Cabin again.

Step up from camping

This place has a great location but it really is a step up from camping. Rugs, couches, bedspreads, bath mat, and carpets are stained and dirty and any spaces in between two areas (e.g. bathroom sink and shower) don’t seem to have been cleaned in decades. We brought old sheets from home and put those on couches so kids bodies/faces weren’t touching the couches as is. One dining chair was broken upon arrival, bunks were janky and unsafe, and we killed 4 spiders on night one. Kids found the largest spider we’ve ever seen in the game room and were terrified to re-enter even after I killed it. They said “tarantula” and it was pretty close in size. We also found mouse droppings on the bed we stayed in on our last morning and several droppings in the adjacent room closet. We all walked with shoes on the entire time we were there. We did call Vacasa re the bunks (and heat) and they came out to fix the bunks and give us fans for each room right away. If some time went into updating this place, replacing couches, rugs, furnishings, and carpet, and giving it an extremely deep cleaning, it could be worth the price point based on location. Other reviews mentioned cleanliness and I should have heeded those. Location is a positive for sure but I expected a little more pride in upkeep.
