We stayed in 13 Hutton Hall, which had its own entrance to the beautiful outdoor terrace shown in site pictures. A door at the street side of the terrace made for easy access to the room from the car, with the parking spot behind the buildings almost always available.
Sound travels easily here, seemingly through floors, walls, and windows. It wasn’t a problem during our visit, but I can see where it could be.
The bathroom is old, with no counter space at the sink. A remodel of the bathroom would make this space perfect.
The location is quiet, yet not isolated. It felt safe for a solo coffee run at dawn—encountered people walking dogs and groups of runners. The coffee shop on the opposite corner is adorable, and has excellent coffee. They don’t open until 7:30, though, later than they do where we are from.
We followed recommendations and ate at Savannah Seafood Shack. It was very casual, but had an excellent low-country boil at a very good price.
Breakfast at Foley House was nicer than anticipated, and the dining area was quiet and comfortable. We also enjoyed the fresh cookies each evening.
Overall, we had an excellent stay. Staff were very friendly and accommodating!
