We have been coming for 40 years. The rooms could use lots of TLC. Mold in the bathrooms, peeling wallpaper etc… there is no room service which tho there is dining in the hotel, the rates of $500 per night for the room, coffee in bed would have been nice. Since it was in December I was especially excited to have a fireplace in the room. Sadly, I learned the fireplace didn’t work and that they are renovating some of the systems, but offered no partial refund or other amenity to compensate. On the positive side, it is a dog-friendly ($$ fee) hotel with an outdoor heated pool. The queen size canopy bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is small and could benefit from a refresh. The staff were nice. I’m glad I made a dinner reservation a week in advance. Meals were fine with excellent service especially for dinner. The lobby was crowded and quite loud as was the pub. Overall it was OK. The room was so warm, the bed and pillows were so comfortable and just the right firmness. The pool and hot tube were open, maybe bring a swimsuit if you are up for a soak in the hot tub on a cold snowy day or night. Check in was a breeze, staff were warm and welcoming. Highly recommend making reservations at their Tavern or Dining Area.
