9/10 Wonderful! (441 reviews)
We stayed at The Address Jabal Omar Makkah for six nights while performing Umrah, having heard it was one of the best hotels in Makkah. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect a five-star standard or justify the price we paid.
Check-in was unnecessarily difficult despite our booking details being available through Expedia. The rooms were clean, but none of our three rooms had toothbrushes, there were insufficient bathroom amenities for two guests, and the fridge was neither stocked with complimentary drinks nor properly chilled despite the 40°C+ weather outside.
The breakfast buffet was acceptable but not what we expected from a luxury five-star hotel.
I would not recommend this hotel for elderly guests or anyone with accessibility needs. Despite what some reviews suggest, it is not as close to the Haram as the Clock Tower hotels. Even using the shuttle bus, the journey involved additional walking and lifts, taking around 15 minutes each way. The alternative route via the outdoor escalators was exhausting in the heat.
On a positive note, the gentleman at check-out was polite and receptive to our feedback. However, one concern I did not mention at the time was that my father was repeatedly stopped by the same security guard while other guests around us were not, which left us feeling uncomfortable.
Overall, this hotel did not meet our expectations of a five-star experience. I hope this feedback is taken constructively to help improve the guest experience.
