"I've stayed at the Colonial Motel a couple of times, exploring the local area, hiking, kayaking. Places like the Colonial are increasingly rare these days. A welcoming and authentic place to stay- and it's the nicest building in town, refreshing pool, comfortable room, and a ten minute drive in several directions to recreation and decent food. "

"It was a nice quiet night did a quick little road trip to visit Howes Cave and this hotel was perfect location lost to the caves and dinning and shopping area. "

"The area surrounding the cabin was beautiful. Great fishing spot. Cabin itself was equipped with everything we needed and comfortably slept 5. Owner was very friendly, helpful, and easy to reach. Generator was enough to keep out phones alive for 2 nights. Great spot, will definitely be coming back."

"We stayed for Baseball HOF weekend. Easy 25 minute drive to Cooperstown. Perfect setting in the woods for our family of five. Kids loved of loft sleeping areas. Host was very responsive to my questions and kind. Great place and would stay there again when visiting!"

"The property is clean. The rates were good. It was very convenient to Cooperstown for the Hall of Fame Induction weekend. My husband really liked the shower amenities-- both the shower head and the Trader Joe's 3-in-1 soap. We enjoyed dinner at the Mill Pond in Jefferson. And the Fire Department had their annual fireworks display on Saturday night. Highly recommend Tandem Antiques, which is just down the street."

"Here's the run down: this is a relatively well kept property for it's age (150 yrs old!). It's a very small 2 story house with a quite large backyard. The exterior views of the house are from the backyard although the living room faces the front.Parking is limited as the garage was not accessible to host a minivan. There is only 1 bathroom which is on the 1st floor with the sleeping quarters primarily on the 2nd floor. If you are older then not having a bathroom within a few steps of your bedroom may be a significant challenge.The bathroom and adjacent laundry room are well appointed. The washer and dryer are brand new as is the bathroom furnishings. Wifi was excellent. Although we didn't do any cooking a microwave would have been nice for restaurant leftovers, etc.There is no "view" from the living room per se so this house makes for a very convenient "crash pad" if you are in town for some outdoors fun or the hall of fame or a baseball camp as it's just at the edge of what I'd call a convenient distance (30 min) to Cooperstown. Not sure I would have enjoyed the stay if I was planning to spend any significant time at the property beyond sleeping. Although I definitely could have gotten work done with the great Wifi and sleepy neighborhood vibes.Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed our stay and the price was comparatively affordable. It was a great place to rest our heads in between days at Cooperstown Dream Park baseball camp. I'd definitely stay there again."
