“Plenty of parking. Extremely easy check-in. Very clean and comfortable. Short walk from the village with places to eat and drink. Quite at night and would stop again. ”

“Great location less than10 minutes from Durham, so the perfect base without the price tag of Durham hotels. The staff where friendly and welcoming. The cooked breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. We did not try the dinner options, but it's a lovely, friendly pub. Our room was a great size and the bed was comfy with a lovely feather duvet. Would definetly stay again. Alina & Steve”

“Excellent 10 out of 10. Our 3 day Xmas period stay with our dog was from arrival absolutely superb. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful; the room was warm, comfortably and clean. The food throughout our stay was excellent with a menu to suit everyone and the Xmas lunch was fantastic. This is definitely a place to revisit.”

“Our stay at Burnhopeside Hall was one of our most memorable ever. Christine, our hostess, was delightful and helpful. The room was spacious and the surroundings could not have been more grand. This is a stately old home, full of beautiful furniture and dishes, near sheep pastures and the river. While there, we walked the yard and fields behind the house, went down to the river, accompanied by Barney and Spencer (the Burnhopeside dogs!). Breakfast was delicious and elegantly presented. “A lovely house with welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts. Very comfortable room with well-equipped “private bathroom” nearby (a very minor whinge is that en suite would have been nice). Great individually tailored breakfasts to set us up for the day. Location is in easy walking distance from the town and several good walks. Free parking right outside. 10/10”
