When we arrived the next morning and asked to check in we were told that she had given our room to another couple that arrived that morning as she is unable to pay her mortgage if any rooms are vacant during the month. We explained that we had paid for two nights and understood that we would not be refunded for the first night since she was unable to rent the room but that she should either refund us for the second night or allow us to stay there. She said to leave the property and that she promised to refund the second night to Expedia. We were later told by Expedia that she refused to refund the money and told them that if she refunded the money she would be unable to afford to buy more properties. Overall this was very disappointing I would not recommend staying ath this property. The experience was bad enough that even after several months I still feel sad about how terribly we were treated. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and filling and the location could not be better. Right next to the Redwood forest and walking distance or a short Uber away from the city center.
