You couldn't ask for a better place to stay especially if you have children, plus there is a tram system right outside that can take you to where you want to go and only costs 50cents a trip excellant.

We had such a wonderful and memorable stay here with our family and friends. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth and kindness. A special thank you to Mary at reception, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We also really appreciated the hard work and support from the housekeeping team. But what truly made our stay extra special was the restaurant team. Our son celebrated his birthday here, and the staff went above and beyond to make his birthday dinner feel so special and memorable. Their warm smiles, attentive service and genuine care made us feel like we were celebrating with friends rather than simply dining at a hotel. It was such a lovely evening filled with happiness, laughter and beautiful memories for our family. As parents, moments like this mean so much to us, and we are genuinely grateful to everyone who helped make our son’s birthday so special. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be coming back whenever we visit Mission Beach. This is more than just a place to stay, it’s a place where we made beautiful family memories. ❤️

Unfortunately, this stay was disappointing, particularly because of the way requests and expectations were handled. Two weeks before our stay, I contacted Q1 specifically requesting a high-floor room and was told the request had been attached to our booking. However, at check-in there appeared to be no record of it and we were initially allocated Level 16. After raising it again, we were eventually moved to Level 28. We were also told we had been “upgraded” to a two-bedroom family room. Calling it a two-bedroom room was extremely generous. It was essentially a standard room with two single beds squeezed into a small corner and that area called a second bedroom. It certainly didn’t feel like the upgrade it was presented as. We checked in around 11am and completely understood the room wouldn’t necessarily be ready. However, we were specifically told we would receive a call when it was available. That call never came, and we eventually followed it up ourselves and accessed the room at 2:10pm. I’ve stayed at Q1 multiple times over many years, which makes this particularly frustrating. I don’t expect every request to be guaranteed, but I do expect honest communication. Don’t promise that requests have been recorded or that you’ll call a guest if you don’t follow through. It comes across as disorganised at best and deliberately misleading at worst.
