The Slieve Donald is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting and the staff are amazing. We had a beautiful comfortable room with a great view over the sea and mountains. However there were a few issues with the room. The only mirrors in the bedroom were long narrow ones on the wardrobe doors. There were no electrical sockets near these mirrors. The addition of a mirror close to a socket to use a hairdryer would have been appreciated. The bathroom lighting above the wash hand basin is poor, better lighting and/or a magnifying mirror would be a great addition. Breakfast: buffet with good selection of fruits, youghurts, nuts, cheeses, cold meats etc and porridge is also offered. However the cooked section was very disappointing - good selection but bacon so overcooked my husband couldn’t eat it, eggs and fried bread very poor! You have to make your own toast, white bread only offered and it had to be put it through the toaster three times before it was toasted! I would expect a 5* hotel to offer a freshly cooked breakfast made to order. If they could get these few issues sorted I’d be back again in a heartbeat.

Wow. This is such a gorgeous hotel and we will definitely be going again. The check in was super easy and relaxing. Great service from every member of staff, the hotel usspotlessly clean with amazing decor. I didn't want to leave the hotel room, it was so chic, well designed and very relaxing. And breakfast was absolutely delicious too! I actually couldn't fault this hotel in anyway and it was a bargain, i'm just sorry we hadn't stayed sooner!!

Good location and value, but needs some attention. Easy late-night check-in with digital access via the JustIn app. Great location, right next to a large Tesco, and the free basement parking is convenient and plentiful. The apartment was okay for the price, but clearly needs some refurbishment. Our second-floor road-facing apartment was a little noisy during the day (despite the double glazing). The floor was sticky and hadn’t been mopped, while the lighting was quite dim. Common-area carpets were also stained and looked like they needed a good clean. Overall, good enough for the price and convenient for a short stay, but don’t expect 5-star facilities.

Very friendly staff. Was able to leave our luggage before and after our check in and out. Very happy with our short stay.
