9/10 Wonderful! (1,646 reviews)
No bar soap in room. Beds made short sheeted & had king size on queen beds so sides too long & trip hazard in middle of night. No overhead lighting inside door & over full length mirror. Mildewed tub edging. Market great convenience but bananas were rotten & had no fresh when asked, 3 days in a row. Great location with park directly across the street. Text requests available for valet service in advance. Key card required inside elevators terrific security feature. Bar shut down early because "business was slow" so a night cap upon return to hotel at 9 p.m. was disappointing. But, canned cocktails & beer in 24 hr. Market in lobby was a fairly decent substitute. High floor River view request blocked by high buildings - no river view really. Pool water looked oily & uninviting. At check out overcharged for daily valet fee. Desk does not take no housekeeping requests. Instructed to hang "people inside" door hanger outside on knob. It kept falling off! All in all overpriced but convenient location & felt safe.

7.4/10 Good! (1,001 reviews)
I hardly ever leave a bad review, but I was so disappointed in this hotel. We weren’t made aware that they were under construction, or that the continental breakfast would not be available. There was dust and equipment everywhere, even the hallways were dirty. When we got to our room, there were gummy bears and empty Capri Suns on the floor of our room, dirt in the sink, and hair in the tub. There was no sheet on the pull-out sofa bed, or pillows and blankets for it. The water for the shower never got warm. If we were planning to stay in a cheap motel, I would expect this. But not at here. The front desk was understaffed and the women there were trying their best to handle the massive influx of guests in town for various events, but were obviously not getting help from management. I won’t be going back to this hotel. If there’s construction or a change to available amenities, that should be communicated with guests before they arrive. Do better!

I will start by saying his was our first stay at a Wingate, so maybe they are all this way. Maintenance of the property is severely lacking. Not the cleanest place either. There was visible dirt on the AC/furnace unit, so I can only imagine what the air we were breathing was like. The mirror in the room was broken. There was some sort of laminate piece, looked like flooring, sitting on the window ledge. The bathroom was starting to show its age, which made it look dingy. There was visible ceiling damage, you could see what looked like water damage, and the paint was peeling. In the breakfast area, there was visible damage and mold on the ceiling.I had to wait at least 10 minutes before someone showed up at the front desk to check me in. This seems to be a typical franchised property where the money is being sucked out and no money put in to maintain the property.
