Colombia Kid friendly Vacations

The hotel is pricier than it should. The location seems inconvenient, although it is kind of a oasis in the middle of a not too nice neighborhood. Breakfast was delicious, although one of my colleagues had a heated argument with the owner, probably due to a lack of a well designed web page. Other staff were super friendly.

I liked the staff I don't like the poor community between the spat and the lady who run the bingo at night. Because the lady announced that the price for the winer will be a pass massage. I won the bingo and next day I went to have the massage and they told me that was only 10 minute. The lady at the spat was very friendly and talked with the manager and I have a 45 minute massage but I paid $150 pesos My suggestion is the communication need to be more clear between the person who run the activities and the spat to avoid confusion. The Sofitel in Cartagena is the definition of a sanctuary/oasis in the middle of a tropical city. The garden in the courtyard is extremely beautiful and unique in itself. The design in general really reflects the beauty of Colombia, and when eating at the restaurant (either by the pillars or in the middle of the garden), it feels as if you are eating in the jungle. The location is incredible, as it is just off the north shore wall by the sea in the heart of the Old City (away from all the main shops which is great because of all the foot traffic when it's busy during the day and at night), making for beautiful evenings on the rooftop bar where you can enjoy some live music while watching the sunset. Our main waiter during our stay, Jorge, was wonderful and made our dining experience even better with his smile and friendliness. The food was outstanding, and I have only eaten at the hotel restaurant while staying in the city. Since this property is roughly 30 years old, there are some areas that are starting to show its age (e.g. the gym, the washrooms by the pool), but aside from that, this property is arguably one of the most beautiful in the entire city of Cartagena. Overall, another lovely visit (this was my second time staying here) and I would not stay anywhere else besides this hotel.
