A lovely hotel for anyone who wants to relax in a stunning location. With it's own private beach, you can enjoy the sunset right from the pool or restaurant, and we even had a few friendly water buffalo wander past! If you want more hustle and bustle then perhaps stay closer to the port, as there aren't many shops or restaurants nearby, but this was the perfect place for us to recover after our action-packed Komodo Islands cruise. The rooms are simple but very spacious and comfortable. The staff are lovely and accommodating - they even started the breakfast buffet one hour earlier for us as we had an early flight! Food is simple but it's great value for money overall, one of our favourite hotels on our trip!

The 2 bedroom villa we got was right on the beach and extremely comfortable! Plataran prides itself for old world luxury and it never fails to deliver! We were thoroughly spoilt by the Plataran team and can’t wait to go back!

To much deferred maintenance. Clean but needs some maintenance and upgrades. Would not give us a second key to room. Key needs to be in room to keep AC on. No power outlets in bathroom or near bed.

"The property was in a poor state of repair and finding the restaurant when we arrived in the dark was not easy. There was no signage, minimal lighting and no staff to help. The service was slow and although we did not see the swimming pools or beach in daylight the pools did not look clean."
