Very clean, beautiful accommodations, incredible pool and location but the staff was the best part. All of them were very polished and offering assistance without ever needing me to ask. Well done!

I don't believe this hotel truly meets 5-star standards. The staff are friendly, but the overall experience falls short in some basic areas.
We had a 7 a.m. checkout, and breakfast doesn't start until 8 a.m. — meaning we couldn't have breakfast at the hotel. We asked for a to-go option, which was not available. This is something every other 5-star property I've stayed at handles as a matter of course.
Additionally, no complimentary water was offered in the room — or if it was, no one mentioned it. Again, this is standard at any hotel in this category.
Breakfast itself was decent, nothing remarkable. I understand Portofino is an expensive destination, but the experience here didn't match the 5-star label.
