The resort is already open for 45 years, which is the oldest resort in Maldives. Yet old doesn’t mean old fashioned or not being competitive, their flexible operation really brought us a wonderful trip in Maldives. You may not like to listen to the sound when the aircraft passes by cuz it is very close to airport, it makes you more than satisfactory in other ways. It’s a nice yacht to drive u from airport to the resort. The staff is nice when showing u around with a golf car. Everyone is helpful in the resort. Originally we should have only booked 4 nights, yet hk was having typhoon and we have no choice but to delay our flight. We were so frustrated of not be able to find a place to stay. Yet the resort assured us immediately by saying we could extend the nights even we are not sure how many nights we need to extend. They did their best to correspond our arrangement and allow us to pay the rent after our stay. They will organise some complimentary event for the guests like yoga class, painting class or even cocktail party for free... they may not be the most beautiful, spectacular resort in maldives but they are no doubt the warmest staff i have ever met! Really appreciate your hospitality

This is the first time we visit Maldives as well as this resort. It’s not a big resort but like a small village. Staff are friendly and they could remember where you from and who you are (at least at room number). Don’t expect those “Sir” or “Madam”, as I believe they are trying to serve you like a friend from somewhere far away. We enjoyed the time in Veligandu with our overwater villa. They have 2 restaurants while I tried only the main one, which serve buffet in 3 time slot (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Don’t worry if you feel hungry out of these period, as they serve snacks like burger, fries, sandwiches, etc for 24 hours in their bar. Cons: might be their varieties are similar, so I feel a bit bored at my 3rd and 4th day, but overall is good. Please expect they are serving Western and south Asian oriented cuisines. Facilities are well equipped in their various sport centre, as well as a spa centre which serves various spa and massage services. Not 5-star level of massage service but I feel pleased. If you expect a friendly resort with less crowded atmosphere, Veligandu is the one I would recommend.
