This hotel was very nice and very affordable. Just like a 15 minute walk from the Quarter. The indoor pool/spa was a great feature. It was a rainy weekend when we were there and they put out a bunch of umbrellas for guests to grab, which was a very nice feature. Only downside...the key cards and readers do not work well. They are temperamental. We got locked out of the room a couple times. So keep your ID on you when you leave the room, and make sure that your wife/husband/partner is listed on the room so that when you are making a Beignet run to Cafe Du Monde in the morning before the lines get long and your wife gets locked out of the room and she calls you the front desk will give her a key because you added her to room and you don't have to run back to hotel with beignets and cafe au laits.

Hot water was lacking, so if you like cold morning showers you'll be right at home.
$57/day for valet is nonsense.
$25 dollars to rent a movie I should be able to access from my netflix account is absurd.
Charges to my bill b/c a sensor in the room was triggered when a beverage or snack from the minibar was moved is a great way to generate revenue without an expense. Thankfully I looked at my bill and remove ~$100 in charges.
There were smells like a gas station bathroom in different areas of the hotel. Not everywhere, but I'm guessing it's related to the suffering sewage/utilities in downtown NOLA.
Upon arrival the valet didn't even offer to help with bags. Not a big deal for me, but an offer would have been appreciated and shown a level of service appropriate for a Waldorf Astoria property.

My wife and I stayed here the last week of May and loved it. Location is great between the bustle of the Bourbon St. area and Frenchman St. It's across the street from a bar, so that can get noisy. Old charming building with an attached building as well. Room was spacious and comfortable. Free breakfast was tasty and saved a ton of money on our trip. Gym is a hike way upstairs to get to. Staff had more than enough information and recommendations to make your trip memorable.
