Southern Basque Country Ski Vacations

Clean rooms, helpful staff. Shower door is only partially enclosing the shower area so water runs out onto floor. Can see prior repairs of the wood door frame to the bathroom entrance. Nice breakfast assortment to get the day started. Very close to Abando metro station. Hotel cannot help the following, but others may want to know these: Homeless cardboard camps outside the entrance and down the street. Dumpsters here smell horribly of urine. Bus stop (not sure which or to where) is right outside the door to the right. Mall across the street has restaurant and small grocery store.

The hotel is conveniently located 1 block back from La Concha beach, 5 minutes from most of the shopping and about 10 minutes walk to every Pintxo bar worth visiting in Donostia/San Sebastián. The staff is incredibly welcoming and delivered on our every request immediately. The room was larger (by European standards) and pretty much what you would expect from a US room - so I would call it spacious for the normal traveler. Coffee and mini bar was included with our room which was a nice touch. The room had a side vie of the La Concha bay and very quiet except when we had the window open and the one bar below us was getting ready to close...that was the only noise we could hear the entire stay. If you are driving there, contact the hotel ahead of time to reserve parking under the hotel as there is limited space. I prefer my car at the hotel but I understand that there are public parking options nearby. If we come back, this will be the place we look to stay.

This hotel was a dream find !! Stunning in every way. With a room and view over the harbour and a short walk down to the bay where we found an amazing restaurant, it was a beautiful experience. Breakfast was amazing too... 100% will return.

The staff were friendly and helpful, however I was disappointed by this hotel overall. We booked for two nights. I have stayed in other NH Collection hotels in Spain and this one was noticeably less luxurious and less well appointed by comparison I thought. The bedroom was spartan and lacked warm touches, the lighting was poor in the rooms and the common areas, there was nowhere to sit in our room except for the bed or at the desk - I would have expected at least an armchair in the room. The hotel was super expensive this weekend because it was a national holiday in Spain so presumably demand was very high and I booked fairly last minute - so I got a bed for two nights on the edge of the city - it was ok, but too expensive, and not up to the usual NH Collection experience in my opinion, sorry. I would not recommend.

The property, the staff, the breakfast, it's amazing. Thought the lack of parking is a bummer, but the staff is very helpful. We love our stay
