The room was cleaned. Housekeeping only on request. Room was very basic, nothing like the 4 stars in other countries. Staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very basic. We had dinner in the restaurant on the day we arrived. It was 9pm, kitchen was about to close and they still served us. We enjoyed the meal.

We traveled to Iceland for the solar eclipse, 2026. I understand price gouging.....but this was off the charts. A total of $2340 (US dollars) for 2 nights, for 2 people. Okay, so we thought this would be a great place...not so much. The staff were helpful, especially in the breakfast area, constantly refilling food and drinks. The beds are comfy, high quality linens, breakfast was average, the rooms were hot without temp control, the hallway carpet looked new but it was stained and dirty. The signs (think room numbers, Stairs, Office, Staff only) were all made of black construction paper with words or numbers written in chalk. Most hotels in the area have access to call a taxi by pushing a button-the staff can then track the taxis location and let you know exactly when the taxi with arrive-to the minute. 201 Hotel did not have this feature. Although they would call for you (on the phone), it was often busy and were unable to access transportation. This hotel is not in a walkable area. More than being disappointed with this hotel, I am disappointed with Hotels.com and their participation in the extreme price gouging that took place here. 201 Hotel is more a converted road side Motor Lodge, than an $1100 per night accommodation.

This place was perfect! In the middle of town. Beautiful! Very clean

I only have one recommendation for the hotel. In the lobby, change the ringtone at reception. It is the default tone that immediately breaks the vacation mentality and brings one back to the normal grind of every day life
