A proud history and a modern, multicultural atmosphere make this a great place to spend some time.

Admire breathtaking churches and remarkable temples around the city of Brampton. See brilliant artwork and performances or view perfectly preserved relics from past centuries.

A 5-minute drive south of the town center, the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives brings together a collection of pieces from the surrounding region. See displays of works by local artists including David Milne, William Ronald and Ted Fullerton. Modernist sculptures and prints are also featured. The museum area holds furniture, garments and farm tools from the 19th and 20th centuries while the archives preserve old photographs and newspapers.

Just a short walk north, the Rose Theatre puts on frequent performances of traditional music and acting. The smaller auditorium regularly hosts stand-up comedy nights and dance workshops.

For fresh air, visit pretty Gage Park. Surrounded by fragrant flower beds and woodland, the area has several paths and trails, as well as lawns and picnic areas. During winter the circular path here freezes over and becomes a popular ice rink. Rent skates and glide along the ring of ice surrounding a central gazebo, with festive lights adding to the experience.

Brampton has been welcoming people of different nationalities and faiths for years. See evidence in the shape of several beautiful buildings. The Hindu Temple northwest of the city features glistening white peaks while the Ukrainian Catholic Church farther south is a majestic façade of rounded wood towers and spires.

All ethnicities are encouraged to come together for the Carabram Festival during the middle of July for multicultural experiences. Enjoy displays of music and dance from Asia and Europe and indulge in a selection of delicious specialties from all over the globe.

Brampton is a 50-minute drive northwest of Toronto. In this bustling urban center, find plenty of hotels and several particularly excellent Italian and French restaurants.
