Concert Stay

Pros: It was close to where we were going.
Cons: Needs updated, but hard to do when the road keeps being closed to fix bridges. (As in three years in a row)
Location: Very close for going to Penn State events.
The hotel is old and definitely could use some updating, but it was clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly. I would stay at this hotel again.

First of all was not happy because the hotel listed on Expedia that the max guests of 5 persons... Did not say whether adults or not. I check in and tell them I have 5 adults and the guy tells me it is 4 adults 1 child and wasn't going to let us stay in the room... I was 4 hours from home and there for concert.. All other hotels I knew, because I checked were booked.. I ended up having to get a second room. Very deceiving advertising. The rooms were outdated and smelled funny, someones underwear were left in our room from previous guests, and couldn't even get pop or water next morning because none of machines worked.I would never recommend anyone staying there. Since I had to get 2 rooms I could have stayed in a nicer hotel for same price if I would have booked it at same time I did this one...

Room Dirty - Untrained staff

It was a regrettable choice. Used the mobile app for Expedia, and it was the most distant hotel on the list, but one of the few on the route we were travelling. Had we waited a few more miles many more would have shown up. This hotel still had dirty facecloths in the shower from the last guest(s), hard uncomfortable mattresses, and very run down in general.

Awful experience.

First, we had a hard time finding the place. GPS did not help. When we got there, the room was set up with 2 full size beds. When making my reservations, I specifically requested a room for 3 adults and 2 children. The bathroom had what looked like black mold around the tub. We were given 2 bath towels which we chose not to use.The dresser was falling apart. They had extra blankets with numerous holes in them. The whole experience was horrible. Would never suggest this hotel again. Wasn't worth the price!

Pros: Scenery, quiet,. friendly people.
Cons: More attention to needs of guests.
The owners were very nice; however, everyone slept late and not have coffee ready in the office.

It was confusing. Had a reservation but owners (who were foreign) were away at a wedding and the person they left in charge was unsure how to handle check ins. Not sure what room was available. Went with grandchildren to amusement park and the owners contacted me with room availability and went out of their way to correct the misunderstanding. Was ok after initial problem.

A Disappointing place to stay

Location: Altoona is nearby including Horseshoe Curve, Railroad Museum.
The mattresses on the two double beds were about 4" thick. The bathroom door didn't latch. The floor of the tub was very slippery. Only two of the four possible lights in the bathroom worked. Only one light between the beds worked. The freezer didn't freeze. We found no way to redirect the air conditioned air which blew on our heads all night. The receptionist said that her husband would bring us a new light bulb, but that didn't happen. The curtain was broken in 4 places. The decor was totally mismatched.

A place that needs work

Pros: We had a goo night sleep
Cons: Repairs and cleaning
Location: The location was good, but there wasn't any places near to have a good food in the morning.
This hotel was okay, It needs to be up to date, cleaned better. We felt we were at the Bates Motel and joked about it, we made the best of it and enjoyed our stay. So over all it wasn't as bad as it may seem.

What you see is NOT what you get!

Pros: The room was comfortable and clean and the WiFi and water pressure were good.
Cons: Change the listing information to be truthful about the location and state of disrepair and the real amenities available.
Location: The location is out in the country and several miles from anything.
The listing in Expedia says the location is in the middle of town. The picture shows a neat 2 storey building with a colonial appearance. There is mention of a roof-top terrace, coffee shop/cafe/ bar/lounge. It is NOT in the middle of town - it is several miles out of town. The amenities mentioned were invisible or risky looking. The inn is extremely run-down. The face cloths are so thin they wouldn't even make good cleaning rags. The towels were as rough as sand paper. Coffee/tea maker in the room would have been nice as there was no coffee anywhere else. The reception area looked full of junk and smelled of mildew or mould. It was quite a scary introduction to the place. On the plus side - in over 2 weeks of travel it had the best internet connection. The water pressure was great. The room was a good size, the bed was very comfortable, everything in the room was clean and neat. The frig and microwave were functional. The folks who run the place are very helpful and congenial.
