My stay was a little disappointingPosted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Close to shopping center and bus routes like 422 and 423.
I was looking for hotels in Downtown Chicago but there was a conference going on and everything was booked so I had to look for hotels in other places and I got this in Skokie. The exteriors of the hotel are good. The staff is friendly. They also gave welcome cookies which was a nice touch! My stay in the hotel, however was not very good. 1. Water in the tap was white in color, looked very dirty. 2. My key card kept failing at the fitness center and they needed someone to come and open it up for me. 3. I didn't order any food to my room but they ended up charging me $23, and I had to go and sort it out with the front desk. 4. I expected a little bigger room, sumhow it seemed little smaller (just wasn't the most comfortable)

Nice hotel in Skokie!Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Nice pool. Room was very comfortable, clean.
Cons: Carpet in room looked due for a shampooing, though it was vacuumed.
Location: We drove to other locations, 20 minutes away. Noticed plenty of shopping near the hotel though.
Cookies at check-in were pleasant surprise. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Lobby and common areas excellent. It was worth a little drive from where we were visiting in Ravenswood and Rogers Park. Enjoyed the fruit in the morning. We got a great deal w/some promo rate that was offered on this website.

Great place to come home to.Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: The complimentary happy hour, cookies. The free newspapers every day. The resturant serves a great breakfast and is reasonable.
Cons: The bath towels were great, but the hand towels need to be replaced.
Location: Right next to Old Orchard shopping center and great resturants. Fannie May candy store is right down street too.
During a very busy visit to the area, we stayed at this Doubletree Hotel in Skokie. I was in the process of selling my 86 year old mother's house and cleaning it out after 48 years of living. Mom and I were exhausted and when I checked in, I was offered a warm walnut chocolate chip cookie (yum), and special attention to choose a room that would not require my mom to walk too much but would be quiet enough to rest. It also happened to be complimentary wine and cheese happy hour in the lobby! So they had us at "hello"! The beds were very comfortable and first class. Though this hotel has been around for many years, it still looks great and the staff is very welcoming. We have already decided this is where we will stay when we get homesick for the old neighborhood.

The hotel's location is far from cityPosted Sep 2, 2014
We're the first time visitors of Chicago. My family had stay in the hotels for 3 nights. The hotel is nice but its location is far from the city. And the bad traffic always happen in the highway between the hotel and city. It's not convenient for the family to have public transportation from hotel to the subway/trail. Will suggest the first time visitors should book the hotels in the city even though paying the parking fee there. The hotel is nice and clean. But the room cleaner always only leave one or two large towels in the room even though we had asked to change all towels as we have 4 peoples there.

Great staff!Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Hotel staff, room
Location: Attended a concert at SPACE in Evanston just 4 miles down the road. Will definitely come back the next I attend a concert.
I arrived just as the restaurant was closing. The front desk had me quickly place an order and then had me check in so I could get dinner before they closed.

DOUBLE TREEPosted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Handy for North Shore PA
Cons: Hotel Staff at desk could be friendlier
Very good, except for being disturbed by Reception at 08.00am on my penultimate morning, suggesting that my CC wasn't registered when it was. This disturbed a deep sleep and no apology.

Outside the city, but close enough for conveniencePosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Like the staff and appearance of the hotel.
Cons: The carpet needs redone in the hotel. No issues, but could tell carpet is not tight on the floor anymore.
Location: Great location with easy access to O'Hare, the Loop, and Milwaukee
We were in search of a hotel that would allow us easy access to the city and also the ability to not be crammed right in the middle of everything and this was it. This hotel offered us everything that we could want in a stay. The staff was great and the overall experience was great. Was not a fan of the restaurant on site, but other than that it was a very pleasant experience for us will staying in the hotel. We had a fridge in the room, but no microwave. Would have liked a microwave in room.
