My "go-to" Motel.

Posted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: The Continental breakfast, ample parking behind the motel, very reasonable rates, the nice pool, very comfortable beds, the new flat screen TV's, etc.
Cons: Since the recent up grades, not much. The shower head did come off in my hands when I tried to adjust the shower spray angle on it, though.
Location: Opposite the Morman Temple, on Little Santa Monica Blvd. (just East of the 405). Near Westwood and UCLA, a good stone's throw away from Beverly Hills.
I've been to the Azul Inn now about a half a dozen times. Since its recent up-grades, the motel is now more than just a "budget motel". Whenever I visit West LA for a meeting, it has become my "go-to" place to stay. In fact, it is West LA's best kept secret. Just East of the 405 Freeway on little Santa Monica Blvd. (directly opposite the Morman Temple), this is a great, convenient place to stay, providing that staying in a motel/hotel is not your primary reason for being there. It's within easy distance to all the West LA shopping stores (plus UCLA), just East of the main 405 Freeway, and surrounding areas. The room are nice and very comfortable to be in. Not large, yet not too cramped either. Perfect for one or two people. It has one of the best "Continental breakfasts" around, plus an enclosed eating area to eat it in. More than enough parking behind the motel, with easy access. The pool is well kept up and gated. The TV's in the room have all been up graded. I love the small refrigerator in the room to keep things cold until later. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. This is not some 4-star hotel, but then again, it's not meant to be. Like I said, it's one of the best kept secrets in West LA.

Dissapointing

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: Location. Was close to Westwood and UCLA, where I was visiting my daughter.
Cons: It is very dark and gloomy.
Location: Near everything; UCLA, Westwood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica.
Hotel was kind of seedy. Very noisy. Check-in time was too late.

Good reasonable place to stay

Posted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: Free wifi works well and no charge to print in the lobby.
Cons: Funny smell to the A/C. Queen size bed was more like a double. Still ok.
Location: Buses are cheap in LA. $1 or $1.75 Took the bus to beach and east to Hollywood Walk of fame. 7-eleven 2 min away and taco truck close by!
Room was clean - a/c had a slightly funny smell but overall - good place to stay on Santa Monica. Short walk up to Willshire and half hour bus ride $1 to the Santa Monica Pier.

Vacation with family

Hotel room was a little small but the cleanliness of it made up for it. Staff was helpful. Not that much of a selection in breakfast and small dining area. Overall stay at the hotel was very good. Would stay there again.

Good Experience

Posted Oct 16, 2014
A very nice clean hotel at a reasonable price close to Beverly Hills, and only a short drive from the coast directly along Santa Monica Blvd. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and made you feel at home. On site free parking is a bonus in the area.

Good location, good price. Better than expected. Parking a bit of a problem on the weekend but staff was very accommodating. Breakfast offered but never had time to enjoy it.
