Cost-Effective Solution in West LA

Posted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: The cleanliness, the staff, the availability round the clock of coffee and tea, and the safety.
Cons: Perhaps a bit more soundproofing in the rooms as it's a busy area and I could hear street noises at times.
Location: It was between UCLA and another location making it extremely easy to get where I needed to without being far from LAX and other attractions.
This is a well-located hotel that's maintained, has very convenient parking, is safe, and offers a nice, modest breakfast. The single room I was in had adequate space including a sitting chair, a safe in the room, and a stall shower with more than adequate hot water. It was on the second floor and there is no elevator. There are first floor rooms if steps aren't an option for you. Wifi was readily available and they had a convenience terminal and printer available in the office. The staff was very pleasant, answered questions easily and well, and quickly fixed their pancake maker when it acted up or refreshed the 24 hour available coffee (regular and decaf) and hot water with a variety of tea options. Recommend highly for those not wanting to spend a lot of money and are comfortable with modest, well-maintained rooms.

Comfy but could be better

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: Free Wi-Fi!
Cons: Staff friendliness, they weren't terrible but they didn't seem very welcoming either.
Location: Close to Century City Westfield mall (movie theatre and shopping center), driving distance from Santa Monica beach/pier, close to Westwood/UCLA
I came for Valentine's night. It was one of the cheapest I could find in the area. For the price, compared to other hotels, it was a good purchase. Especially since I had a promo code that discounted $25. I didn't have any problems with the hotel really, only that they had fluorescent lights which I find kind of annoying. I loved how they had free Wi-Fi and a refrigerator to store my drinks and food. Most places crowd their fridges with mini-bar items and charge you extra for Wi-Fi.

Good bargain but staff has problems

Posted Feb 12, 2014
Although the Azule Inn is in a great location and is a bargain , it has some problems. Staff has a problem with English on phone and didn't carry through with their promise to give us rooms together on the ground floor despite promises on the phone - twice. Also there was a huge wet spot on our carpet. Also only one Kleenex in the box and no backup. So if the details are important to you, this might not be your choice but the location free parking and breakfast made it a good bargain.

cheap

Posted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: not a lot
Cons: too much to list
cheap in all ways…1. no elevator to 2nd floor 2. coffee in room v poor 3. no milk 4. breakfast a waste of effort 5. It is a cheaper motel near UCLA is its only positive feature. You may expect to get what you pay for in LA.

Pleasantly Surprised

Posted Feb 10, 2014
I booked this in advance and forgot what the photos looked like. When I arrived I was expecting a dump but got into the room and it was pretty nice with an extremely comfortable bed. Clean, decent bathroom amenities (although I hate when there is no bath tub), internet worked well. Breakfast wasn't anything great but had fruit which is always good and the rooms, although nice, were probably still a bit overpriced. Either way I would stay again. The noise was incredibly loud though, I have never experienced anything like it even in the crummiest of motels. Not sure if the hallway I was in amplified the street noise but maybe ask to have a room at the back.

Great location and price

Posted Jan 24, 2014
Pros: Location and it was clean.
If you need a hotel in this area Azul Inn is a great choice. This is not a high end hotel but it will meet your needs if you are looking for a comfortable bed and a clean room. The room was not spacious but we didn't need it to be. The location was perfect for us. The breakfast is a typical, fix your own, hotel breakfast. We were able to fill ourselves up. Again, nothing fancy. The staff were easy to work with.

Located on Santa Monica BL near Westwood BL. Great Area! Safe on-site parking is included, a big plus!

Good location at fair price

All was good but front desk staff not well trained. Not polite! Wouldn't let me use lobby rest room even though I was staying there.
