Room not ready or clean even after check-in; TV remote missing batteries and although it appeared that staff was aware, I had to walk approx 500 yards to office to turn remote in, and back to room to await its delivery. Desk staff distracted and inattentive.

Old but beautifulPosted Aug 9, 2014
My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. Not exactly what we were expecting, but still charming and nice. Breakfast may come with the room, but it's not much food. The hotel itself is gorgeous and has wonderful views of the mountains, but it is very old and needs some room updates and repair.

Beautiful sceneryPosted Aug 5, 2014
The food at the hotel is great. Breakfast is a real breakfast and tastes delicious. The bed in our room needed to be replaced. You could not sleep on one side or you would fall off. If we had been staying more than two nights I would have requested another room. Overall this is a beautiful place with a pool, hot tub, and good food.A

Nice quaint / rustic getawayPosted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: The atmosphere was great
Location: Southern Taos - away from traffic, but close enough to drive to shops and dining.
Other than poor service at breakfast our second day, we really enjoyed this hotel!

Pros: The free breakfast was well worth it. Since there was 6 of us, it was a great deal.
Cons: The hotel is in need of some updating, and the beds are very uncomfortable. The shower curtain leaked and the fridge did not have a temp knob .
The beds were not very comfortable, and neither were the pillows. I would suggest taking your own. The free breakfast was excellent! The wait staff was very fast and friendly. They were very accommodating to our needs. The housekeeping staff was very friendly. Check-in was fast. The building is in need of some updating, and the tiles in the bathroom are coming loose. Overall we would stay there again!

Cute, quaint place to stay. Comfortable and clean. The only negative I had was the band outside in courtyard that played til midnight. Couldn't sleep.

QuietPosted Jul 21, 2014
Booked a "deluxe suite". Checked in and got ... something else. Went back to desk, said it wasn't like the picture on the web. Got a second room. Not on the highway this time, but still not a deluxe suite. Went back again. All very friendly, but this is what it took to get a room that matched the picture on the web when I booked it. Once we were in the right room, we liked it. Pool was clean. Breakfast was cooked to order, kind of a nice change.

Pros: I like the grounds and lobby of the original Sagebrush. Facilities are very clean and the staff is very accommodating. You actually get a prepared to
Cons: In both the newer part (used to be a Comfort Inn I believe) and the older part the water pressure is somewhat low.
Location: The location is on the south end of town which I prefer. It is not too far from the Plaza but not close enough to walk there. There is skiing of cours
Have stayed here before - always in the past in the older part - more ambiance. This was a suite - more modern. Enjoyed the stay and would recommend it.

Charming sea of tranquilityPosted Jul 14, 2014
This inn has been around for years, but is well-maintained and lovely. The rooms all open onto a wonderful central grass-filled, tree-lined courtyard with plenty of chairs for taking a break from the insanity if Taos. The complimentary breakfast is actually ordered from a menu and served at your table, with choices of eggs, breakfast meats, French toast, and the like, instead of the usual dry cereal, fake juice, and powdered eggs, if any at all. The room was clean and everything in working order. I will return next time I visit Taos.

Amazing algae bloom in the high desert plateau.Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: The price was right- great for sleeping. Wish the Laughing Horse was still in town
Cons: If you are going to state 'there's a pool!' then make sure they are clean, and filled.
Location: Nothing is close. Visit Taos Diner for breakfast burritos (red & green!) El Meze for amazing food!! Monte's and get the Susie, World Cup-Mex mochas!
While they make it a point of informing guests that they have a pool (there are 2) one was empty (not mentioned) and the other was green, you could not see into the water. They also have a Jacuzzi which was seemingly clean, you could see to the bottom- the water was blue. We didn't take advantage of either.
