Great Location

The location next to the drug store is very convenient and the free shuttle bus to the parks is great!!! Breakfast is awesome!!

Awesome hotel. only had 1 unfortunate incident

Hotel was extremely clean and beautifully maintained. Rumors that every hotel in Florida will have bugs is NOT true. Pool was also clean and warm. The first night we were there, the in room mini fridge didnt seem to be cooling. Maintenance was sent right up and was fixed immediately. The breakfast buffet also had choices of either the cold (cereal, bagels, doughnuts) (less expensive option) and also hot (eggs, omelets, meat). both were very good. The only bad thing that happened was that the toilet backed up on one of the last days there. I called the front desk starting at 8:30AM. After 12 rings i got a what sounded like i awoke someone and was told that someone would be sent down right away. No one came. Left for the pool at 10:30AM and called the desk again. Again was told someone would be sent right up. No one came again. Finally came back from the pool about 1:30pm. called the desk again and also ran into the maid on her way into the room and had her call. 2 hours later we left again and finally when we returned back to the room, the problem was fixed. Just wasnt impressed by having been told would be fixed right away but still having to call back so many times.

buy Disney souveniers at Walmart. Way cheaper than the parks or the flea markets. Cant get everything there but if your not looking for certain particular items, they have much to choose from. also, take the shuttles to the parks. they expect a tip but way cheaper than paying the $12 parking at the parks on top of the ticket costs.

This is the fifth time we’ve stayed here. We’ll come here again!!

Great hotel, glad we stayed here again! Our only criticism is that the Coffee Shop only opens at 11:00 now. It used to open earlier. Now we have to stop for coffee off premises when we’re going to the theme parks in the morning. Clean, comfortable, great location, definitely worth a visit there!

Gift shops around the hotel on route 192 carry much of the same kind of merchandise that is sold in the theme parks, but at a much better price.

Back to Basics

Best Western Lakeside is a fine hotel if you are looking for comfortable basics. The furniture is functional, nothing fancy, and the room is clean. The pool area is nice and the restaurant/ bar offers good atmosphere and decent prices.

Not Impressed

Hotel did not look how it did online. The shuttle service was not of any use because it didn’t run at good times. Very disappointed with this hotel

Nice hotel, good price

I was very pleased with this hotel. I was in town for a weekend convention and did not want to stay at the convention hotel due to the massive price. The gal at the counter when I checked in was wonderful and the room was comfortable, clean and had good amenities - mini fridge, iron, blow dryer, etc. I would certainly use this hotel again.

Mixed response

Cheap, and u get what u paid for. Reading light by bed did not work, and not able to repair in 36 hrs on weekend. TV remote controller likewise. Place could use some painting. But good location, friendly help, food was not cheap, but in the center of numerous restaurants.

We remember when.

We stayed at this hotel about twenty five years ago when it was owned by a high end chain. It is as we remember it with a few additions(Pizza Hut)and some redecoration.Unfortunately it is beginning to show it’s age as far as maintenance goes,we had to call the desk on two separate occasions to resolve problems,a dead battery in the beeping smoke alarm,a loose screw in the tub faucet that was in danger of going down the drain and the drain stopper that was unscrewed from the lever,these were repaired promptly within minutes. There was also a lack of hot water from the lavatory faucet until I discovered it had been hooked up backwards hot to the cold side,I did not make an issue of this as once we knew the problem we made do. Because of the number of separate buildings (around fifteen)it takes a while to get your bearings the way they are arranged on the property. All in all the room was pleasant and served the purpose as a stopping off place to visit family and visit Disney World.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

This was an Expedia package that included round trip air fare from Tucson to Orlando for two five nights at the hotel and a Budget economy car. The car was a Rio and we upgraded to a Malibu for an extra $10 dollars a day and then were conned into buying a $40 dollar tank of gas with the excuse that we would be charged their gallon price if returned without a full tank. I was disappointed with the deal from Budget and will never use them again.

Worth what you pay.

Had trouble with the key cards that left us in the heat for over 30 minutes, unable to get in. Had more trouble with the high power flush of the toilet. Other than that, the room was clean and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was great.

Book the extra cost breakfast with Expedia and save several dollars for each person.

Inconsistent quality, book if you feel lucky

I stayed twice on the same trip. The room that I got first time was super bad. I was even thinking of cancelling the second booking, but it was totally non-refundable so decided to stay the second time. The room given this time had good A/C, clean room, firmer bed, and couch. The biggest problem for me is a microwave. I had a baby and need to heat milk twice a day. The description says the microwave is in the lobby, what it doesn’t say is you need to walk 5-7 minutes from your room to lobby. The worst is not over yet, the microwave is inside the restaurant of the hotel, and the restaurant people hate to fulfil your microwave request, and you cannot use microwave yourself.

I am from bay area California,where you can find plenty of Indian restaurant. But, I have to say the food at "Passage to India" is very authentic with real spicy food that is even hard to find in bay area.

Great Deal in Disney area!

I have stayed here about 6 times now and although it is an older place it is very well kept and the staff is Great. The room, a pool view double is convient to the pool, clean and has a frig, micro and safe. All toiletries provided as well as pool towels and anything you need they will get or plus there is a 24 hour Walgreens practically in the parking lot. Lots of fast food options within walking distance as well as Denny’s, pizza, Golden Coral and there is even a Pizza Hut in the hotel and convience food area that’s open until 11 PM every night. Hotel provides transport to the Disney parks, shopping outlet mall etc. Also, the city LINK bus 55 is right out front, took it to Old Town, Wal Mart, the ORANGE store, 2 different Flea Markets and to Al Capone’s. $2 per ride or $4.50 for an all day pass. Wont stay anywhere else in the Disney area, this place is VERY reasonable, great location, well maintained and good people work there, they have long term employees that now recgonize me months later and do take that extra step to ensure your good time

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

If you want to go to Wet and Wild and dont have a car take the free transport to the closest Disney park (I forget which is was but the desk can tell you), walk accross the street and you’re there)as opposed to renting a car only for that or paying $35 each way for a taxi to get there!

For the price cant’ beat it

For the price and convenience you can’t beat it. Our room was clean and close to everything but Universal which is not that far actually maybe twenty minutes unless it is rush hr . Walgreens and Wendy’s within walking distance, if you push it you can walk to CiCi’s pizza and Burger King.Will be going back in a month or so and staying here again. If you like Hot Rods check out the cruise at Old Towne on Saturday nites it’s free and there are some really nice rides.

A lot to be worked on

As far as the overall maintenance of the hotel, seems like the hallways are never swept or cleaned, a lot of dirt and cigarrete butts. The gym should be closed, the machines do not work and the weight station is a dinosaur, old and unworkable. For the barely minimum of sleeping and taking a shower it will do, but if you plan to lounge at the pool or excersice, or simply relax, look for another hotel.

excellent hotel for people who dont drive

I went the last week of august for my vacation with my son. It wasn’t the fanciest of hotels but the staff was very nice,the room was clean,the shuttle service to the parks was excellent,and the hotel was next to everything in a perfect location.There was also a 24 hour walgreens next to the hotel. The hotel also had good prices at there restaurants. They aslo give you coupons.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you dont want to spend to much cash on food stay at this hotel. There is Wendys, Burger King, Chinese Food, and Red Lobster right next to the Hotel.If you do not drive this is an excellent hotel to stay. You do not need a car. Shuttel service is free. Walgreens has everything!

Nice hotel, great staff

We stayed at the hotel for one night before checking into our Disney Resort. The hotel staff was very nice and efficient. We got our breakfast for free which was a really nice buffet with someone cooking omlets. The staff there was nice as well. The pool was nice and well maintained and the kids also loved the putt putt course on the premises.
