Great Location- not a 4 star hotel
The Copthorne Tara was in a great neighborhood and very convenient to the High Street Kensington Underground station. There are coffee shops, grocery and food close by. It is absolutely a 3-star, not a 4-Star hotel. The room was very good and more spacious than expected. Even though the Underground ran outside our window, it was quiet. The bathrooms are in serious need of updating and ours needed repair. The staff was not at all friendly or helpful, but we didnt spend any time there anyway.
Buy an Oyster card for the Underground (Tube) and use this as a base for traveling around London. Also Tube to/from Heathrow on the Picidilly Line.

Bring an alarm clock
Asked for wake up call on day of travel, no call received, staff just ignored our complaint.

Great Location
the hotel is located in a quite area, its clean and the staff are helpfull. Its very close to shopping stores, restaurants, tube, and bus stops.. the main street is less than a mile away... almost everything is near by. the area is not crowded at all, and coffee shops are really close. if you need taxi youll always find it around the corner, and using the tube from the station is really easy. you can take a tour bus from there, or just walk for a while and explore everything. I loved its location, and the room was cosy and clean which I would say is very good. very good experience, and I would probably go there on my next visit to London.
The tour bus takes you everywhere, hop on hop off as much as you want. if youre a shopping person, Oxford street is the place, and so is Kensington high street. Piccadilly is Londons "Times square", and you can find tickets for musicals there. if you like parks, Hyde park and regents park are a must in your visit. if you like street markets, you should head to Portobello street or covent garden on weekends. London has the best thai restaurants ever. Wagamama is almost everywhere, and Busaba is on Oxford street- behind selfridges, both are highly recommanded. Oxford street is almost always packed, but its fun to walk from Marble arch to Piccadilly through Oxford street and Oxford circus. its a long walk, full of shopping! London is a very lovely city, everyone must visit!
