best option "if you have a car)

Great hotel if you are on a budget but still expect to stay at a decent place. I’m a repeat customer and always find this place to be well kept (at least for the non-smoker rooms). The staff is friendly and helpful. On the down side, the room are starting to show some age but nothing to be concerned about yet. They are apparently remodeling some rooms into small suites. Also, it’s far from the strip (you will need a car or take their free transportation) Their resort fee is not justified (other than their free shuttle service). BTW, there is a big Wal-Mart across the street.

Just Fine For The Money

For what we paid to stay for a few nights, this hotel is perfectly adaquate. Rooms are clean enough, easy enough to get to, and quite enough. Seems we did have a small problem with a lack of hot water for morning showers, and the room could have used a coffee maker - other than that it is just fine.

Great value

For not much money I stayed in a room that was clean, quiet and had a comfortable bed. Those three things are all I need to enjoy my stay. It does not have a convenient location, but does have frequent transportation back and forth to the strip in a comfortable bus.

Very Comfortable

Clean quiet with everything you need. I was at a trade show on the strip and was able to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax. Billy Bobs Steaklhouse has awesome food and service. As it was Samstown one of the reasons I stayed there was I enjoy Country Music and the cowboy life this was gone from the last time I was there. I was disappointed. I hope they bring it back.

Only one minor complaint

It’s a great self-contained location in Vegas. It is very reasonable, and they have free shuttle to the strip, or it’s only about a 10minute drive and there is always ample parking at the major hotels. The complaint is that they have a "utility service fee" that they charge to each guest in addition to the rate you pay on line. You don’t find out about it till you get your credit card charge. It is a small charge, and the hotel still remains an extremely good value. However, I do think that they should alert you to this fact at check-in. I would definitely stay there again.

Many Things to do With out leaving Sam’s Town.

We stayed for five day’s and we spent most of our time at Sam’s Town with lots of fun things to do. Large casino that is set up very nice and easy to find your way around. Pleanty of dinning, fast foods, and a great buffet. Lots of places inside to have some fun, like movies, bowling, shopping, shows and I think it may have one of the largest indoor park like areas with animated animals and birds with great free show that is a must see. Thanks sams town for all the great fun we had.

great hotel for the money

Very good hotel for the money, a little far from the strip(about 6 miles) but not too far away from the action. very laid back hotel that caters to the locals, which is not a bad thing but not too much action happening there as well. I have always stayed at sams town because it’s a friendly enviroment and the value is always high. just watch out for the room surcharges for which I think they are a joke. I think most hotels in las vegas charge them but you need to check on that!!!

lots of family friendly activities available here at sams town, such as a bowling allie and amusement arcade as well as he movie theatres. pool not too bad as well. just stay away from the buffet the food is horrible and the service is just as bad..

Good Hotel bad Service

Sent my family back to the hotel to go swimming while we continued unpacking at our new home. The room key would not work. The front desk would not give the kids a new key. They sat for TWO hours that it took us to get there! Two eleven year old children and a 2 year old sat in the casino waiting for us! Very bad customer service!!!!!!

Awesome trip. Hope I get to go back

This hotel is not on the strip but they provide shuttle there for free. Most of the locals say they have the loosest machines. Very clean and friendly. Would love to do this again one day.

Late October was a great time to go. Still warm for shorts but not to hot for pants. Highs in the mid 80’s and lows in the mid 70’s.

I would go there again

We were there for a concert at the Silverbowl so it was great. The hotel had a fun atmosphere that kids would like. We only wish the beds were a little more comfortable.

good value

very nice hotel..easy access..good selection of onsite shops..only problem is the half hour show in the lobby..if you want quiet and your room is on the inside you are out of luck...watch for add-on fees.

Can’t beat the price, close to Sam Boyd

I’ve stayed at hotel’s all over Las Vegas, and would recommend Sam’s Town to anyone looking for a short stay that’s also on a budget. Its about a 15 minute cab ride from the airport, and even closer to UNLV’s Sam Boyd Stadium (we were in town this time to see a U2 concert there). Prices usually much lower than anything on the strip, and an adequate representation of a Vegas-style Resort. Rooms are comfortable, staff friendly, movie theater, bowling alley, and several restaurants all on cite, as well as some kitschy animatronics and a fountain show in the Atrium. Only setback is its location - questionable neighborhood, and the shuttle to The Strip is stops running at 10 pm!? The only time you might want to pass over Sam’s Town is if you plan is to hit the strip frequently - it might be worth it to pony up some more money and get something on the strip. But if you don’t mind another cab ride or are renting a car, Sam’s Town is right off the South End of the Strip.

My get away place

Sometimes you don’t need to be on the strip to enjoy Vegas. The water/laser show, restuarants, bowling alley and movie theater more then make up for it.

No need for sleep in Vegas!

Everything seemed fine with the accomodations... except the beds! I believe this is by design, though, since the goal in Vegas is to keep you out in the Casinos, the shows and the restaurants! That’s not only good for Vegas but also the reason you came to Vegas, right? But, if you’re looking for a good nights sleep, don’t plan to find a comfy pillowtop bed in Sams Town. But the rooms, the other accomodations, the casino, the movie theatre, the bowling alley, the restaurants, and the staff are great! And, the kids will enjoy the Atrium show! Our family went to Vegas to visit the grandparents and enjoyed Sams Town. Getting a good nights sleep was the only drawback to the trip.

Sign up for Sams Town’s player reward club so you can save on the restaurants \ buffets and other amenities!

great value , especially off peak rates

excellent value, good services at complex; clean; shuttle service to ’strip’ was a nice feature.Nice that Nevada has banned smoking in restaurants- they need to do more in the casino as the smell was overpowering. Very little non smoking gambling area.

Surperb deal near Las Vegas

The best deal included the shuttle bus to Harrah’s. There is a room charge for this service anyway so why not use it to go into Las Vegas town without fighting the traffic.

A great alternative to the Strip

My wife and I had never stayed and Sam’s Town before this trip, but were very satisfied with our experience. The room was superior to the rooms of the moderately priced hotels on the Strip and less than half the cost. The hotel is out on Boulder Highway which makes it distant from the Strip and Downtown casinos, but they have a shuttle service to reach those locations. We plan to stay there again.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Sam’s Town has a large bowling facility that is usually booked for league use during the evenings, but is open for guests during the day.

Not impressed

I have stayed at this hotel many times and it seems that customer service and general maintenance have fallen off. The casino was also very smokey.
