“We loved our stay at Kandy Shady Trees thanks to the very welcoming and accommodating nature of our hosts. The room we stayed in was large and very comfortable and breakfast was fresh and substantial. The location is up a steep hill (we took a tuk tuk up and down it) but could be walked. Views from the property were great and it was in close proximity to central Kandy and many worth visiting sites. Our host also accommodated us by driving us to local sites for a very reasonable fee. “It’s a hard Hotel to review because it’s so old and unique. I loved the history of the Queens Hotel. I believe it was build in Colonial times by the British tea plantation owners. It’s right in the centre of town next to a beautiful lake. The pool is huge and very clean. The buffets were excellent with a variety of local, Indian and European food. The hotel is also reasonably priced.”
