“Many years ago Motel 88 (once known as the Oasis) was one of Oneonta's best, complete with a popular night club. The night club is long gone and the rooms seem to reflect the 1960s and 70s in decor and fixtures. Still, I found it clean and quiet. The parking lot is very spacious, and the tv channel selection is vast. A nice restaurant is across the street. Yes, it's dated. The office is also not staffed through the night, and keycards are to be dropped off in a locked mailbox before guests……
“This was an excellent stay! It was a surprising little hideaway in what I consider to be a remote place. It’s not The Four Seasons, but it is clean, safe, quiet, offering all of the things that one needs for a comfortable stay. The only thing in the room that didn’t work was the actual phone, which, if you have a cell phone, is really not a deal at all. Pretty comfortable bed, nice spacious bathroom, ample parking, and wonderful staff! Bob was so great and very helpful! And, I was so very happy……
“The staff was very helpful . Our GPS stopped working and a staff member went on her computer to print out mapquest directions for us . On the negative side, the TV screen was blown so TV did NOT work . I reported this to staff at check in . We were not planning on watching TV so that was not a big deal . There was a used towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door , so the cleaning staff missed that one . Other than that , we were satisfied with our stay .”
