The Northwestern Region is a historical area that shares borders with Chile and Bolivia. Much of the vast terrain consists of red rock canyons and deserts, but the varied landscape also includes tropical jungles and salt flats.
Trek through the valleys of the Quebrada de Humahuaca in the outskirts of the charming city of Humahuaca in Jujuy province. Inspect the Heroes of the Independence Monument in the center of the settlement and learn about the region’s role in establishing the autonomy of Argentina. A little to the south is the town of Purmamarca, which has trails leading to the mesmerizing Hill of Seven Colors.
