We love staying here when we go to Barrow, such a lovely hotel.

This old manor home has been a hotel for a long time and it has a certain old world feel. But it's well-managed, comfortable, and the setting is fantastic. We had long walks on the beachfront (it's a unique sandy waterway), blustery rain, and a lovely walk into town for a nice dinner. Don't miss sitting in the lounge/library with a good book looking out over the front lawn. I would love to spend a week here with rainy days and big thick books to read.

There are not enough stars nor points to give this hotel! It is perfectly placed near the Lakes, but not so close as to be crowded. Our room was lovely, with all the right touches and amenities: great shower, comfy bed, and REAL COFFEE! The included breakfast is fantastic, and do not miss the restaurant (we ate there 3 times in 2 days), as the food is superb! Every staff member we encountered was delightful. We would go out of our way to stay there again!

It was a nice experience and we really enjoyed it. The room was clean, staff was nice, and food was exquisite. I highly recommend Brown horse inn. Nice view.

The LInthwaite House Hotel is absolutely marvelous--in every way. The location overlooking Lake Windermere is perfect--amazing views, feels like a million miles from the tourist chaos below, yet extremely handy to everything is one wanted to pop to a local pub or explore. The manor house is absolutely beautiful, in superb condition, with many inviting public spaces--not the least being a marvelous atrium room overlooking the panorama below. Enjoyed a great 3 night stay at the Hideaway. This is a true Bed & Breakfast. Our bed was comfortable and our private bath had been nicely modernized with helpful shelves and racks. The breakfasts were prepared to order from a balanced menu. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Due to the rain we did not get to enjoy the outside sitting area but it looked inviting. A truly amazing property. Unparalleled service, exquisite country setting, the most wonderful food and presentation. We were here two different nites within a week and were welcomed back on our second stay like old friends. Deco is amazing...cannot say enough about this wonderful property. Cute, well-priced hotel in Heysham village. Wonderful English breakfasts get every day off to a good start. Location is awesome for fantastic views-2’ to the sea and 40’ to The Lakes. Rooms are cosy with nice en-suite bathrooms!

The Ees Wyke is a true country inn with magnificent grounds and views of the countryside and lake. We stayed in the Lilac room which was large and comfortable with a beautiful view of the lake. The public spaces, i.e. living room and dining room, were beautifully maintained and elegantly appointed. Glenn and Susann were lovely hosts who showed us great hospitality. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was skillfully cooked to order, full of options and served with great attention. We enjoyed our stay at Storrs Gate House during our time in the Lake District.
