Hunter Lodge, a Bluebird by Lark

"Just for starters, our room was very very clean and very nice. Lots of room comfortable, bed. I guess some of the problems were with the outside areas. We noticed outside our patio, a pile of cigarette butts and roaches, and some chipping paint that didn’t appear to have been cleaned up for a while. We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon, though the front desk staff were friendly, just didn’t seem to be overly motivated to accommodate new guests. One of the highlights is the outdoor fire pit, which has a really lovely setting. However, the fire pit was filled with trash that appeared to be pill packages and I’m taking a LOT of them! They weren’t cleaned out, just kind of shoved to the side, we had to ask them the next day if they could clean out the fire pit which they did fairly well. Definitely noticed somewhere and tear on the outside such as chipped and peeling paint on these patios and stairways. Overall, a nice day could just use a little facelift!"

"Exceptionally clean and with terrific refridg, freezer and microwave. Very recently re modelled and hardwood floors!! Bathroom lovely tiles floor and large shower. Good water pressure and soft mountain water. Great room size. Very quiet, busy road only. Highly organized staff to keep things moving well for visitors( regarding keys and internet.) Will stay again and what hillside views!!! Not fancy but so well done. Loved the drive up the 4 mile switch backs to get there. Diner nearby"

"Cool little spot with the inn at the back of the property and the restaurant at the front. It’s been passed down through the family and I met the owner inside during a quick dinner, down to earth guy. The room is very vey clean and still sporting the original textures and fixtures, real retro feeling, I loved it."

"If you are looking for a very peaceful, serene getaway to completely reset, book this place immediately. The quiet, beautiful atmosphere makes it a true sanctuary.The hospitality here is next level. Jackie was incredibly nice and welcoming from start to finish. Jonathan went out of his way to take gorgeous birthday pictures for me the second I asked. The absolute hero of my trip was Kristine, who literally saved me when I found myself stranded in the middle of nowhere!This team protects your peace of mind, I am telling everyone about this gem, and I am definitely coming back to the Emerson!"

"The hotel staff is very friendly and provides excellent service . The room is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is not really good. The potatoes are too spicy. We asked the waitress if we could change. She rejected directly and didn’t give us any choices. However, when we had the breakfast in second day morning, we required to change too spicy potatoes. The waitress was very nice and helped change to fruit after she talked with supervisor. If the breakfast could give more choices, the hotel would be more attractive."

"Truly enjoyed our stay and hope to plan another trip. We loved our cabin. Great location. Close to dining and activities. WiFi spotty, but allowed us to be more present with one another. Kids watched DVDs, played board games and did puzzles. Basic but nice breakfast option, and the kids loved having the s'mores kits."
