“Good location, a bit noisier than I expected due to trains during the night and some construction. Close to Yellow River Forest, Effigy Mounds and Pikes Peak State Park. Comfortable furniture and bed. Kitchen area includes microwave and small fridge, no sink. Looked like a nice fireplace which I did not use. Shopping, but few restaurants of note on main street; a couple of bars and one gourmet store. Kwik Star right across the street which was convenient. Host was friendly and accessible.”

“The owners were very responsive. The property was well kept and comfortable. Even with the owners living on site, there was no one bothering us. We didn’t do any outdoor activities on the property with all of the cabins being rather close together with no separation, but it was too hot to be outside anyway.”

“I'm not quite sure if it was cleaned between travelers. It was not filthy, but dishwasher had dirty dishes in it. Take a lighter and your own soap with you, dishwasher pods are the only soap furnished. I'm sure what I bought will be gone. Paper products are also in short supply. The location and property were great for our stay.”

“Very clean! Quiet location. Careful on steps & railing bit shaky We brought our own charcoal grill but it does have nice gas bbq Bring chairs for around fire pit. Love the huge porch!”

“Spa would not heat. Host resolved over a 2 day period but unfortunately we don't then only had use of it the last afternoon and evening. Host offered return of cleaning fee instead of a fair compensation of unusable amenity . In addition, this is a list of other issues we experienced at this property:arrival to swarms of flies in the house-mildewed wet bedding left in washing machine-non working/non hooked up a/c units-unsafe/unrailed ladder into spa-tripping hazards due to unmitigated……

“We had a nice stay at Black Bear Cabin. Short distance to tourist attractions. Hot tub was enjoyed and the beds were comfortable. Some things that might help improve the stay for others would be: dish towels for easier kitchen clean up, ability to plug in deck lighting, hooks or shelving in rooms for towels and clothes, end tables in the queen bed rooms, and fresh batteries for basement remote. The kitchen had all the tools we needed for cooking. Great place for meditating and quality time. ”
