About this property

2 Bed in Bakewell (oc-82117)

  • Situated outside the village of Ashford-In-the-Water, in the peace and quiet of the rolling Peak District countryside. Bring your walking boots, as there is a, virtually private, public footpath from which a myriad of countryside walks await; the cottage provides easy access to explore beautiful surrounding scenery, for example, Monsal Head & Trail or the quaint village of Little Longstone with eatery pub The Packhorse Inn. Ashford-in-the-Water is a picture-postcard, popular Derbyshire village, offering two country pubs and a village shop. Indulge in the restful surroundings and take a picnic along the banks of the River Wye, by the Sheepwash Bridge. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are just a short drive away. Alternatively, meander through the shops and cafes of Bakewell, home to a weekly Monday market and the renowned Bakewell Pudding. Its twin, spa-town, Buxton, is only 20 minutes away and offers a lively arts scene, including the opera house.

Step into the cottage via the kitchen, which offers everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal, including an electric oven and induction hob, fridge and dishwasher. Come together around the dining table, and plan the day’s activities ahead, over a long and lazy breakfast. There is a handy downstairs shower room, with a shower and WC. Also, there is ample space for storing coats and shoes. After a day’s hiking the hills, put your feet up on the corner sofa in the lounge, light the cosy wood-burner and wind down, whilst watching something on the TV. Head upstairs to find two bedrooms. A double bedroom, with lovely views from the bed, has an en-suite bathroom, with shower over bath and WC. A little further along the hall is where you will find the twin bedroom. Take your time to enjoy a lie-in with a cup of tea. The property has also been upgraded to air source heating.

Outside relax in the enclosed garden with bench seating and BBQ. Surrounded by mature planting providing a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the summer sun. There is off-road parking for 2 cars.
