Within walking distance to Chatsworth House. Well priced dining and breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. No disabled access. A small in room fridge would have been nice. We plan to revisit the area and would happily book here again.

Room was fine. Food wasn't to my taste. Staff was very accommodating when we had an issue with our first room due to construction outside and graciously moved us to a new room.

We stayed for our first wedding anniversary, staff were excellent, breakfast great (could do with a milk jug), the bedrooms were clean, tidy and everything you need.

Delightful hosts.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wheatsheaf where the food and service were of the highest quality. On Friday we were unable to leave the hotel because of the floods but our hosts went out of their way to ensure our comfort and their generosity knew no bounds as they welcomed into the hotel villagers forced to leave their flooded homes. We will undoubtedly make a return visit, hopefully in better weather.

Food reasonably priced, bar staff very good as were waitresses, room was clean. Management lady and French chef/manager in the morning were nice people and friendly to chat to. Carpet in room could do with replacing and toilet seat seemed a tad flimsy and loose, bed was comfy although wasn’t level with the head board so there was a gap at the back, shower pressure was fantastic and clean bathroom too. Room had a good size tv (if needed) and easy access to get to rooms. Breakfast was fantastic as was steak night on a Thursday. Great pub garden would be nice to see this place in the summer. Would recommend as a good hub too if visiting many places in the Peak District.

We loved the Peaks District and the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Baslow. The room was comfortable, breakfast was great, parking available. Beautiful area to explore, whether driving, but especially walking. Would stay again.

Helpful staff; awful coffee!
The staff were welcoming and helpful and were apologetic that booking in was lengthy because of computer problems. It was a pub ambiance restaurant with a varied menu but I think the 'mash' with the pie was reconstituted rather than fresh potato. It was also disappointing to have sachets of instant coffee with breakfast - filter coffee is easy with a machine and in the other 3 hotels I used during my trip( not Marstons), this was the only one without 'proper coffee'. I sensed other guests were surprised too.

Great Value for Money
We were very happy with our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable and the price point was great. The heating also worked well. Only a few minutes from Chatsworth and it was great value for money. Would be very happy to stay there again.

Conveniently located for Chatsworth House/ Peak District walks and villages. Very clean and comfortable room. Coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board available. Large car park. Excellent for the price. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

It’s a really nice place. It has a nice bar, dining area and a large garden. It’s right next to a very busy road which is fairly noisy. It didn’t bother us though, we had a good nights sleep there. So would definitely recommend
