The hotel is near a soccer field so the bar was full of pre-game fans and was very noisy. The restaurant had limited food and drinks.
Next to a golf course and in the business district, Hotel Seminario Bilbao is in an area with good airport proximity. Notable landmarks in the area include Plaza Moyua and Vizcaya Bridge, and travelers wishing to experience a bit of culture can try Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at San Mames Stadium or Plaza de Toros de Vista Alegre. Take an opportunity to explore the area for outdoor excitement like hiking/biking trails and other activities like golf lessons.Visit our Derio travel guide

We chose this hotel for our family because it was close to the Bilbao airport (for 7am flight the next morning) and offered a free shuttle service. The check in was quick and the receptionist spoke English well. There is also a restaurant onsite, which is convenient because otherwise you need a car or taxi to get food. The restaurant food was adequate and the staff was very attentive. We were also looking forward to using the sports complex described, but when we got there it was all locked/closed up. The hotel staff couldn't tell us the hours. You should also know that the hotel is actually just one floor of a giant old building that houses various other businesses and offices. Parts of the building looked to be unused and in disrepair. Seems like it's an effort to revitalize an historic building for multiple uses. The hotel room itself was modern, spacious and clean. There is no air conditioner and no fan, so if it's hot, you need to sleep with the windows open (and can hear airplanes taking off/landing until about midnight).
