The authentic real log chink and mortar construction with hand-hewn rails and posts at the entry will set the tone for what awaits you inside. The rustic-styled wide plank pine floors, gas fireplace, log beds, and handmade rough cut wood dressers and are no doubt reminiscent of your most enjoyable past family vacations. Back outside take a quick stroll down the level path surrounded by a forest of tall pines and hardwoods to the clear lake waters. Lake amenities at the water's edge may include morning coffee on the bench, canoeing, fishing, or a cooling float on a raft. Guests will appreciate the large outdoor fire pit with an open view of the sky. At days end spend some leisurely downtime in the soothing waters of the hot tub in its own detached pavilion! Close by there are hiking trails and 2 additional descending lakes that you will enjoy as well. We felt so cozy and loved the lake and hot tub. We wished we stayed longer so we could start a fire too. Just a few things to note: 1\. we couldn’t find anything to start a fire so bring your own matches/oil to start one! 2\. There is no coffee provided so make sure to bring some if you want to use the coffee pot 3\. On the VRBO app, it shows check in and check out at different times than the property manager communicated. We used the app to book everything so when we saw the typical time of 11 AM we planned accordingly. I didn’t even see there were other times stated anywhere else so day of check out we got a call at 10:30 asking us why we were still there past 10, and when I said what the app stated, I was told I was wrong, which was unfortunate since that was the truth. After explaining what the app said again, they admitted that sometimes the apps say something different. We ended the call on good terms but I would just ensure this doesn’t happen to you because we had to rush out while the cleaning person waited on us. On mountain roads but pretty easy to find. Everything was as described - even though there are other cabins in the area it feels nice and secluded. Really tastefully decorated. Fire pit and lake not too far of a walk, everything was perfect for a long weekend. Nicely appointed and cozy. Beautiful property with trees giving visual privacy. Convenient location between Blueridge and Ellijay. The only draw back for use was the neighborhood noise. Sound travels in the mountains and especially on Saturday there was a lot of leaf blowers, weed eaters, etc. But the really crazy one was the helicopter that came in and out. Others may not notice the noise as much as we did because we live in a rural setting, so not as accustomed to it. The fire pit was on point and very peaceful at night. The little mountain lake was lovely and nice to sit by.
