Private Cabin Overlooking Pond & Streams

Welcome to Streamside Retreat 2!

A very private cabin at the end of the gravel road overlooking ponds and a trout stream. Nestled in a beautiful, private, wooded 3+ acre lot overlooking a bubbling trout stream and ponds below on the property, this charming log cabin is the perfect getaway to enjoy relaxation and yet be only 8 minutes from the action of the vibrant town of Boone. Convenient to all the activities and attractions in the mountains, with a private paradise setting where you will be sure to unwind. Come and relax, get away from it all, and experience all that the High Country has to offer. Appalachian State University and the football stadium are less than two miles away, with popular downtown Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, and Appalachian Ski Mountain within a 20-minute drive.

The main floor boasts an open living space with a stacked stone wood burning fireplace, mounted TV, and quaint cabin kitchen and dining area. The upstairs loft includes a comfy leather sofa and TV with an upstairs master bedroom and private bathroom. There are two queen bedrooms on the main level sharing a full hallway bathroom.

The expansive outdoor space provides fun for all with an outdoor fire pit aside the stream running the length of the property. There is a fishing pond, picnic table, and space to explore. Enjoy a soak in the hot tub overlooking the stream, challenge your group to a friendly cornhole game, or simply sit on the deck with the sound of the stream as your background.

Amenities include Wi-Fi, TV programming, and streaming on the smart TVs, and the cabin is equipped with a washer and dryer. This wooded end-of-the-road oasis offers lots of wildlife and usable space by the water for families and pets to enjoy; additional pet fees apply. Feel comfortable in any season with central heat and A/C on the main level and a loft window unit. Please note: Smoking, vaping, and tobacco use are not allowed. Hunting is not allowed.

Guests must ford a creek to access the home. The normal water level is manageable by a standard SUV, but the creek may swell after heavy rain. You will need AWD or 4WD to access the house in all seasons. January and February are closed due to access constraints. Allows pets with an additional fee paid after booking. The fee is $35 per pet per day.

See Streamside Retreat 1 for another Streamside log cabin provided by the same owner, just 9 minutes away, allowing larger groups to book nearby, sleeping up to 14 in all.

Weekend in Boone
I came to visit my son who attends APP State. He loves the outdoors and this was the perfect spot. Not too far away from the school but you felt like you were out in the woods. The property is really nice with the stream running by. We enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the birds and water. The hot tub is a nice touch on the cold Boone nights. The place was clean, comfy beds and just a nice home feel for our weekend. Would love to return again soon.

Quiet & relaxing, wonderful cabin
Quiet, relaxing cabin, in the woods, lots of nature, running creek, cabin had everything we needed, so comfy, fireplace was perfect - bed was super comfortable. Only 6 miles to Boone but secluded enough we felt like we were 100 miles away! Must have 4 wheel drive to navigate the road to cabin. Loved it, we will be back!

Quiet getaway
Rustic cabin tucked way up on a mountain. Comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. There was plenty to do in areas around with tons of food choices. Bathrooms could be a bit cleaner but I am hard to please when it comes to cleanliness (sink clogged and hair around shower and toilets)

Lovely mountain getaway
The house was located in a cool private area away from the bussel of the city but still close enough. The house was amazing and well maintained. Very clean with adorable details and decorations. Our 4 year old loved exploring the property and the stream behind it.

The cabin was amazing but the path to get to it was unreal to get to the cabin. Needs a lot of work.

Serenity
We had a lovely relaxing visit with our daughter for the weekend. The sound of the stream and the canopy of trees around the cabin make a wonderfully calming atmosphere. The cabin is charming and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much!

We had a great time!
We booked this property for a short getaway around the 4th. We chose it because it was dog friendly, close to downtown, and had a beautiful yard with water. Of course there was plenty of room for my husband and I and our 2 dogs. We thought the cabin was so adorable and it had everything we needed. We didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub but, we did spend a lot of time with our dogs in the backyard and it was so much fun. We saw so many frogs, chipmunks, some deer, but, thankfully, no snakes. My husband and I both said that we would be willing to rent this cabin again.

Perfect if you want to be near town (Boone, NC), yet nearly feel alone in the mountains.
There are clear mountain creeks literally on both sides of the stylishly rustic cabin, and a small pond out back. Saw deer on the property but no sign of trout. Very clean and comfortable space and will likely return. I highly recommend this property but a 4X4 or AWD with some ground clearance is best, as there is a small creek to ford (my 12 y.o. boy thought this was the coolest) but no trouble for my 4X4 Silverado. All in all, a GREAT experience.

This was a great weekend get away. Definitely recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
I used the "Waze" app on my phone and it guided me straight to the cabin. The only suggestion I have, would be to allow guests to use the only 1 closet in the cabin that had a lock on it, so there was no where to hang my clothes. Thank you.
