Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa

Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa

8/10 Good
"We stayed at the Low Wood to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The Low Wood is a special place to us as this is where we got married so we were excited to return to celebrate our anniversary. I communicated with the team in advance as we had hoped to stay in the same room but this wasn’t possible so we opted for a Willow double instead. The prices are high even for the most basic rooms but we felt it was worth it given the occasion. We booked the thermal spa for the afternoon of the Friday which was fabulous. Highly recommend paying the £70 per person for the thermal journey. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. The facilities are amazing and that view from the heated infinity pool with a chilled cocktail was blissful. The facilities are really high standard and we loved the mask bar and inclusion of complimentary snacks and drinks. On check in we were disappointed that no note had been made of our special celebration and staff were unaware we had married at the Low Wood. A simple note on the system to inform staff would have improved the check in experience. Also no acknowledgement in the room - not even a little card to wish us a happy anniversary. For a hotel of this calibre it feels like a personal touch would enhance the stay. There is a £12 per day parking charge if you book through a 3rd party. Given the location and already high prices this was unexpected and unnecessary. We had dinner and breakfast in the W restaurant which was delicious."
