The staff were all fabulous, so helpful and attentive, friendly and very welcoming. The food is excellent, delicious breakfast with so much choice and variety and the restaurant and bar menu was perfect and again delicious. Our room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. We initially had some problems working the the bath taps ( a nice water temperature was difficult to achieve and they were difficult to turn off fully) but we got the hang of it and a plumber was due to call to fix it. The gardens are very pretty and there is plenty of parking. Check in was pleasant and we were showed to our room which was lovely. The bathroom was in great condition but there wasn’t any bath mat or grab rail in shower area so it was quite dangerous when wet. The rest of the room was good although the vines outside windows need a trim. The only issues we encountered was that a number of the common areas had badly worn and grubby carpets, which need to be replaced. We ate here and the food and service was great and the restaurant was full, so it is obviously very popular with visitors and locals alike. The room was very comfy, lovely large bed. The floors were a little creaky but it's an old building so to be expected. Sandwiched between a busy road and a huge agricultural shed. Rooms are renovated but elsewhere it’s really tired (the carpets downstairs are pretty gross). Bed was super comfortable. All the staff were super welcoming and the breakfast and dinner were both delicious and reasonably priced.
