I stayed twice. It’s a rustic ski lodge vibe, creaky wood floors, no rugs. The rooms & house is clean. The coffee bar is Keurig with Kcup & tea options, zero cream or milk. The front steps could use some maintenance. There is a key code needed to check in. Zero staff on site. They send you a security deposit request by text w/a link. Most of us ignore texts from unknown senders. I emailed to get code; got it once I pd the deposit. The front-door security is deceptive. There were 3 others doors unlocked, one open & one w NO lock. At 10:30 pm we called all numbers posted; one was disconnected. Kayla the manager NEVER responded. Heard from the management company after check-out time/after we left. Heard from BRI later. Another guest came in at 10:30 pm at back door, wanting to come in. Told her the process to get the code. She then said she had come in earlier & put her stuff in a room. Def a security breach. The door that wouldn’t lock we gathered things to try to barricade it. No idea if others had entered via the unsecured doors. Since our “private bath” could be accessed by anyone in the building (unlocked/just a note on door) & we had to cross a public hallway from our room, it was unnerving. BRI seemed to not understand how this security breach was frightening. Management co took 4 full days to convince RBI to offer a partial refund. Without this security breach & lazy follow-up, I probably would have given them a 4. Inexpensive lodge, quiet area. Rm keys by front door.

This was a very poor experience. We had no water for shower, and no water in kitchen sink. We checked in late at night, got up to take showers, and weren't able to do so because there was no water. We'd rented the cabin to go to a wedding and weekend events. Checked out an hour before checkout time to get to the event--unshowered-- and called the host, who didn't pick up. Left a message reporting the problem, and then we were told that we should have spoke to him to have him fix the problem before we checked out. I asked if he thought we should miss the event to wait for him to call back re: the water? Host Offered a $50 rebate and said it wan't his problem that our timeframe didn't work with the time of when we let him know, then the host went on to say he didn't have to offer a refund and got very personal about what should be a professional, business transaction. Host that I was "absolutely disrespectful."..he's "at a loss with how humanity has become and not sure how some people sleep at night. Please never come back to our establishment. ..You're not the kind of customer we want to welcome back." I have NEVER written a negative review of a rental, and have a positive track record for giving positive, gracious reviews. I do not recommend this place to fellow travelers.

This is a secret Hidaway. Don't judge a book by its cover. Very cozy, roomy cottage. We were a family of 4 and there was more than enough room. Communication was amazing and is what made our stay easy! Perfect distance to Mount Sunapee.
