“Great host, Rose cares about her guests you can tell that right away. The room we stayed in was beautiful, the cleanest I think I’ve ever stayed in and it was fully stocked with soaps, coffee & even makeup wipes for my wife. Rose accommodated dietary restrictions for our breakfast no problem. The perfect place to stay for couples visiting Port Hope and looking for something a bit more special than a hotel. Summertime would be even better. ”

“We arrived later in the evening and when we pulled the sheets back, there was hair and a small bug. We immediately went to the front desk and asked for another room - we were told they were sold out, even though Expedia said they had availability. THEN we said fine can we just get another set of sheets - THEY SAID NO, they didn’t have any !!! We had not choice but to deal with the nastiness. “Great well lit parking and nice desk staff. Bathroom floor has a build up of dirt in corners especially beside toilet. Carpets are worn dark grey prompting us to search for bed bugs but found none on the old mattresses. Blankets have cigarette burn holes. Bedding and towels seemed clean. ”

“Our stay at Our Valley View B&B was way more than we had hoped for, both for the comfort of our room to the hospitality of the hosts. The sweet couple running the place were incredibly kind and provided amazing insight on local places to visit and how to best go about exploring the nearby cities. They saved us from the nightmare that would have been navigating Toronto by car after hearing we were going to the aquarium. As for the food, there was nothing to complain about. It was fresh,……

“Due to fluctuations in outside temperature, the hotel AC had not yet been activated. The room was uncomfortably hot (26C). I believe it is prudent for the hotel to notify customers in advance of this prior to locking in the reservation. Had I known, I would have made alternative reservations. I got a fan and an apology from the hotel either of which was satisfactory. Disappointed.”
