“The host and hostess were very welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Parking was in the property forecourt. The breakfast was well prepared and plentiful. The only issue was finding somewhere to dine. The local hotel could not accommodate us on the two occasions that we tried. The nearest was either Northern Sands or Castletown hotel both of which were a number of miles away.”

My only criticism is that we paid for a superior room, but it didn’t feel or look superior. It was on the ground floor with two windows facing Main Street, so the blinds were closed to avoid people looking in. For a standard room that would have been ok, but not for a superior room. “Had a great stay at Wayne’s lodge. The property was beautiful, scenic, well kept. The cabin has all the comforts you could ask for and Wayne was friendly and helpful. Recommended!”

She actively provided advice on the choice of restaurants in the area and helped us book a table for dinner at Northern Sands. Jane and Richard are nice guys with their lovely cat, Lona. “My room was quite large with a lovely view from all the windows! The manager/owner was very friendly and so appreciative of our visit. A big plus was also being able to get a nice dinner in the cute pub after a very busy day on a Rabbie’s tour. It was a nice homey change from a typical hotel room.”

“Kayce was amazing. She greeted us and introduced herself- the room was clean and had everything we needed- fresh flowers. The dinner we ordered was excellent and to order the best meal we had on our trip so far. Everything was locally sourced and made by Kayce herself. She was literally just a text message away. “Andrea was an excellent host, the pod was clean and well stocked with everything you could need to make your own meals. The bed was comfortable and the hot tub was an added bonus to relax after a long drive. Highly recommended! ”

“It’s an older hotel and you can tell they work very hard to maintain it. Difficult to judge the amenities as they were all shut by the time of arrival. My only small concern was the bed wasn’t as comfortable as I’d like it.”
