Brundage Mountain Resort Tours

Trails, glades and bowls covered with soft powder make this one of Idaho’s best ski resorts, with fantastic access to wilderness backcountry adventures as well.

For more than 50 years, Brundage Mountain Ski Resort has served the needs of local skiers in McCall and attracted powder lovers from across the country. Come ski the 46 trails and 1,500 acres (600 hectares) of inbound skiing. For something more challenging, venture into the seemingly endless backcountry.

The mountain opened as a two-trail resort in 1961, with great natural powder conditions and a fun, family-focused atmosphere. Maintaining that approach, over the years the resort has expanded terrain, built and upgraded amenities and installed state-of-the-art equipment.

Along the 1,800 feet (550 meters) of Brundage’s vertical drop are trails and glades for novice to advanced skiers. Glide more than 2 miles (3 kilometers) on scenic Temptation or follow the steep fall line of Rappel. Try snowshoeing at the base with beautiful views of Goose Creek Canyon.

Brundage has two terrain parks, including the Deadwood Shred Park. Board in this natural setting with logs and other dead wood providing organic features for an outdoor experience unlike most man-made terrain.

Book a snowcat adventure with guided skiing or boarding on nearly 18,000 acres (7,300 hectares) of backcountry, including the Payette National Forest. Hire a videographer to document your amazing first tracks.

The fun at Brundage continues into the summer. Try mountain biking and hiking on the single-track trail. Visit nearby Payette Lake for swimming, fishing and boating. Take a whitewater raft trip down the Main Salmon River or Payette River.

The resort has relatively low ticket prices and adds on many special deals, with discounts for early purchase, college buddy skiing, combinations with accommodations and even free ski trials for beginners. Check the website to review the current offers and purchase tickets. Follow real-time snow levels with several webcams and read the snowblog for up-to-date conditions and events.

Brundage Mountain Ski Resort is less than a 3-hour drive north of Boise. Stay in accommodations in McCall at the southern end of Payette Lake and use the free shuttle bus to reach the mountain. Ski season generally lasts from mid-December to mid-May.
