1-we booked a pyramids view room for 1 night. the pictures showed a beautiful terrace. We didnt get any options on Expedia for a balcony one. When we arrived, it turned out to be an old room with a modest size window where you can see no pyramids from when in bed. Only when standing or sitting upright. When we asked for an upgrade for this mystical balcony room, they told us to wait but they never got back to us on availability. Around 5ish we asked, they said oh its not available.
2- The room is absolutely horrific. Not sure if all rooms on first floor are the same, but we stayed in 101 and it smells like sewage (it probably is sewage). We thought this is how Egypt's water smelled like, but trust me, its not. The shower box leakes water all over the bathroom when you take a shower. You need to hold the water kettle button while heating water. The bedding and pillow covers got dusgusting stains (we also thought its normal in Egypt, but being in the Kempenski now we can say this is NOT how hotels are).
3-to top it all off, we booked for a carte with a horse ride in pyramids, 400 EGP for 2 hours, with a guide. What a joke that was on us, the "guide" went up the hill so fast and finished the tour in 40 minutes, AND ASKED FOR A TIP. I told him we booked for two hours we want him to take us to the panorama view again. He started screaming, and left us on top.
The good: location!
